Kansas University architecture students with Studio 804 are working on an East Lawrence home designed to use off-the-grid energy sources and one that challenges traditional methods of home building.
I hope it isn't as ugly as the previous houses have been.

It looks like it will be very ugly and uninviting. Rather than facing 13th street like all the other houses in the neighborhood it will be facing away from the street and from what I can tell there won't be any windows on the street side. It seems to be built in spite of the neighborhood rather than becoming part of the neighborhood.
It looks ugly, but it seems that is the way Lawrence is going as the architects don't seem to have much creativity or imagination. .
What a great project for STUDENTS. I hope the STUDENTS learn a lot and enhance their skills.
Granted ... it's clearly not complete yet, can't really judge its appearance.
It is a good way to hide the houses to the south of it.
