And it would appear that I have been the victim of my own horrible handwriting on the School Board filing application.

I would have happily given an interview. I did not receive any contact from the Journal World via phone, email or text - none of which have changed in the last two years. I would be curious how the "multiple interview requests" were done.

I would argue that it doesn't take anywhere near $10,000 to put on a quality fireworks show. I've done plenty of high quality shows for less than half that amount.

One of the biggest issues that I see with the Governor's proposal is the impact to local communities if they are tasks with either raising their own additional funds or making cuts. Several larger districts in our area, including USD 497, recently passes the mill increase by a fairly large number. Part of that success was due in part to the promise that taxes wouldn't increase - which they will not.
But if this whole state budget process plays out the way it's shaping up to play out, districts may be forced to go back to voters and ask for a tax increase - and in same ways be looked at as being deceitful or flip-flopping. Neither label would be accurate or even fair and would hurt a lot of school districts and their communities.

Don't be hard on the LJWorld, they didn't have pictures or video because they didn't know about it until after it happened either. So, they didn't have pictures or video to share. But we're happy to share the video we made. I hope you enjoy it.
