Let's be a little honest here, however. . .there are diffferences between what happened in Germany and Italy. *We* didn't get rid of Hitler and Mussolini. Mussolini was executed by his own people; Hitler killed himself. The Nazis and Italian facists were ostracized by their own countrymen.
*We* welcomed fellow Americans back into the folds of the Republic.

Oooh. . .I'm trying to appear smart. You've got me there.
The difference between a pure Democracy and a Republic, smart guy, is that majority rule in a democracy decides what happens, sometimes to the detriment of the minority. That's why we have a Constitution; to place limits on what Government and the majority "mob rule" can do.
It is exactly why Thomas Jefferson and John Adams argued against a pure democracy.
Was the Roman Republic a democracy? There are subtle differences. Try looking them up.
History is awesome!

Keep investing as much as you're allowed in your 401k, invest the rest that you normally would invest in a Roth IRA. You aren't going to get the tax savings while investing, but you certainly will when you get to the age to use it.

Since when did we live in a Democracy? The Founding Fathers specifically didn't want a pure democracy. . .that's why we settled on a Constitutional Republic.

No, what's hilarious is watching people thrash around in the belief that somehow the top income earners in our country are "getting over" on everyone. Please.
But by all means, enjoy your fruit.

That, along with your continuing coverage of the "Constitutional crisis" that is the Electoral College, should give you a pretty good stand-up career.
