"I am Catholic and I embrace the LGBTQ right to showcase their accomplishments through the arts or in whatever form they feel is appropriate. But the church represents a larger community, and there are those that remain in their thoughts of prejudicial thinking; be it with LGBTQ rights, or women's rights. Not excusing those that refuse to understand the Pope's own words, "who am I to judge". But please don't take the entire church as one in thought. Prejudice is wrong, but its the members, not so much the entire church.

What is the tax rate on bonuses? I thought it was like 25%...I may be wrong. So, after taxes, the employees are looking at $375.00 bonus, divided by 52 weeks, that is $7.20 per week. And didn't a cabinet official say that the tax savings to the middle class would provide opportunities to remodel homes, purchase new appliances.....Let's keep things in perspective when 'we' go around tooting the horn of generosity.....

Not making excuses for any group. But speaking for myself, we all have a lot to learn and accept what we already knew, just didn't have a real identity, a vocabulary for trans...at least I wasn't aware. All of us have the inalienable right to be happy in our world....bottom line, we have that right.

Why don't you take the time to research and educate yourself before making obvious ignorant statements? Don't you think that your statement indicates that all people who came to this country "illegally" should be deported? Hence all Europeans who were not legal immigrants should be deported as well? Put down the Twinkies and do some research to form an educated response.

Amen, they are not listening to the public. Time for new commissioners.

The people voted against a new police station. Why does this commission feel it necessary to over ride the vote of the citizens? To say the citizens voteed against the method of taxation is a far fetched explanation. I get tired of commissions who think they know how to skirt the will of the people.

City officials expect demand to increase for secure bicycle parking, which allows use of a U-lock as opposed to a coil or chain that can be cut.
So you are suppose to carry this with you on the bike? While I ride the river trails then I am suppose to be carrying that U-lock with me? Once again, its people without bike ride experience coming up with the "educational " idea. Way to encourage and support. Why doesn't the city and this paper focus on catching the developers who evade paying their invoices.....and leave the bike riders alone.
