If you have a weapon you can decide not to use it, if you don't you have no choice except to meekly submit.

Are you sure that is a good idea, LEOs commit 5 to 10 times more violent crimes than people with concealed carry permits.

You must be using Common Core Math to create your imaginary numbers, or really good drugs. What else would you expect to find in the comments on an article about a handful of hoplophobic Regressives throwing a tantrum for more Gun Control? Should people be talking about why the Government should be allowed to Quarter Troops in your home during peace time?

Your 24 states don't leave it up to the schools, they leave it up to the criminals and lunatics. Posting a sign, writing a "Law" or a rule in a student handbook is meerly pretending to make a school gun free. There are ZERO Passive Measures that can do anything except provide an attractive concentration of helpless victims. Ensuring that any place is actually "Gun Free" requires expensive continous measures, sealed perimeters, TSA type screening and multiple ARMED guards at EVERY point of access. That's right to keep guns out requires GUNS in the hands of hired security who in time become bored and inattentive because while the possibility is continous the likelyhood on any particular day is lower than the chance of winning the lottery. If nothing happens the money has been wasted just like a losing ticket. If you supply helpless targets without physical protection and something happens YOU got people killed with your unrealistic "feel safe" fantasy.

You wish, Mississippi politicians (outside of Jackson Repressives) aren't afraid of their voter base so they don't feel any need to treat them all as if they are homicidal lunatics who have to be disarmed so the politicians can feel safe. A Repressive pandering to Regressives, she knows that nothing she is pedaling will keep anyone except criminals and lunatics "safe".

Not really, like you there are many people (myself included) who carry a gun even though they are sure that they don't need it. Most of us won't go anywhere except a shooting range where a gun is "needed". Unlike you, they (and I) don't believe that they are infallible and have never been wrong. I practice because I enjoy it and carry because it takes little effort and in the event that I am wrong about not needing it I will have it and be compotent enough to use it legally and effectively. If, heaven forbid, YOU are ever wrong about never needing a gun what are you going to do besides getting injured or dead? Of course YOU could never possibly be wrong.

Simple answer, No. The people who are the problem have always carried if they wanted, laws were a non-issue to them and still are.

So the average citizen is a drug crazed homicidal lunatic who wants to shoot up a bar because of the voices in his head.... I understand, you are afraid of what YOU would do and projecting that onto 300 million people that you don't know.

Considering that you are part of that lunatic fringe that thinks it's a good idea to depend on someone else to make life safe for you while you walk around with your head in the clouds with calming music playing on your Ipod, your opinion doesn't really mean very much.
