Sound off: Sidewalk grass
<b>Is it against the city rules to leave grass lying on the sidewalk whenever a person mows?</b>
The city code prohibits blowing of leaves, grass clippings, trash, etc., into the city streets as part of its stormwater code. If there were an excessive amount of grass clippings on the sidewalk, that could be considered blocking a public sidewalk, which is against city code. When mowing grass, consider using a mulching mower that deposits grass back to the topsoil where it will be composted and feed the lawn with nutrients.
