Sound Off: Can I nominate a nurse from my doctor’s office for the DAISY award? Where can I get a form? When will the next award be given?
Janice Early, Lawrence Memorial Hospital spokesperson, said the DAISY Award is an international program of which LMH is a DAISY Award partner. Because the award honors nurses who personify LMH’s patient experience, only nurses working for Lawrence Memorial Hospital or LMH-affiliated physician practices are eligible to be nominated.
She said the award is a quarterly recognition, and the next award will be presented in June.
There are boxes with nominations forms in some practices, but emails can be sent to DAISYcommittee@LMH.org for questions or to nominate an eligible nurse. Early said they do also accept letters. Nominations do not have to be in the nomination form that LMH provides.
