The orange No. 4 worn on the jerseys of Kansas University’s women’s basketball players is to honor the four people, including members of the Oklahoma State women’s basketball coaching staff, who died Nov. 18, 2010, in a plane crash.
While on a recruiting trip to Little Rock, Ark., a plane carrying OSU head coach Kurt Budke and assistant Miranda Serna crashed in Perry County, Ark. Former Oklahoma state Sen. Olin Branstetter and his wife, Paula, also died in the crash.
