Was former Gov. Mark Parkinson’s term the shortest in the history of Kansas?


Former Gov. Frank L. Hagaman, the state’s 31st governor, has the record for shortest term at 41 days, serving between Nov. 28, 1950, to Jan. 8, 1951. Hagaman was lieutenant governor, but stepped into the role when Gov. Frank Carlson became a U.S. senator. Parkinson’s term lasted from April 28, 2009, to Jan. 10, 2011, for a total of 622 days.
