Question

Westar Energy trimmed some trees on my property recently. They stacked the wood, and a week later someone else came by and took the wood. I wasn’t sure who they were, and they didn’t ask permission to be on my property. How do I know if this was Westar or not?

Answer

According to Gina Penzig, a spokeswoman for Westar Energy, their protocol is to leave a flyer on a residence to notify them of work being done on the property. This also serves as notification that a contract agency will come by and collect the wood. However, Penzig said Westar has heard of people not related to Westar stealing the wood from someone’s property.
