Question

I see hunters entering the woods after sunset and hear gunfire in the conservation area long after it is too dark to drive without lights. Is this legal?

Answer

Mike Miller of the Kansas Department of Wildlife, Parks and Tourism, said shooting isn’t permitted between sunset and sunrise. Deer hunters, however, are permitted to shoot a half hour before sunrise, and a half hour after sunset. Miller advised anyone who hears shooting in the dark to call the KDWPT’s hot line at 1-877-426-3843 or local police.
