Why are there are so many dead fish around the shore at Lone Star Lake? I don’t see any signs of blue algae.

Richard Sanders, Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks fisheries biologist, said the dead fish are apparently being caused by high water temperatures and the resulting low dissolved oxygen in the water. Keith Browning, Douglas County Public Works director, said the number of dead fish is limited to a few hundred, which is low considering the number of fish in the lake.
