When will that big bridge project on the Kansas Turnpike be finished?
Expect the $130 million bridge-replacement project — and all its related ramp changes, lane adjustments and other related items as the turnpike passes through the northern edge of Lawrence — to be finished in mid-September.
“Everything will be open,” said Rex Fleming, project engineer for the Kansas Turnpike Authority. “New signs. New pavement. New pavement markings.”
The project started in 2007.
But don’t forget: There’s unrelated pavement-replacement work going on east of the Lawrence service area. That work, he said, is expected to be finished by Thanksgiving.
