Question

What's the source of all of the downtown train whistling blowing lately?

Answer

According to Mark Davis, a spokesman for Union Pacific Railroad, the average daily train count in the first quarter of the year was 52. Currently the number is up to 55, so traffic has increased slightly. But, more than likely, Davis said people tend to notice the train whistles more during the spring and fall months because of open windows. He also noted that atmospheric conditions in the fall allow for the noise to travel farther and louder.
