Question

Can the company I work for legally prohibit me from making copies of my personal evaluation? I think they may be changing statistics on my evaluation to aid them in denying my unemployment.

Answer

Ted Lickteig, attorney in Overland Park, said the employee file is company property and the company does not have an obligation to give copies to employees. The circumstances may change, however, if it goes to litigation, in which case the documents will be disclosed to the former employee.
