Question

Is there a city ordinance that doesn’t allow smoking within a certain distance to the entrance of a city-owned building? If so, there aren’t any posted or enforced anywhere that I know of.

Answer

According to city of Lawrence spokeswoman Lisa Patterson, current city ordinances regulate smoking in enclosed places and places of employment. By policy, the city manager may place additional restrictions on smoking at the entrance of city facilities.
