Unidentified person disrupts viewing of the Oscars for some in Lawrence

A cut cable line Sunday night ended the Academy Awards early for some Lawrence residents.

Midco spokeswoman Paige Pearson Meyer said someone with an auger cut a cable line late Sunday night. Midco provides cable, phone and internet service, and the outage affected about 200 customers in Lawrence, Meyer said. She said the line was restored early Monday morning.

Meyer said she could not disclose the operator of the auger, but said it was not operated by Midco. She said she could not say whether the line cut was an accident and that an investigation is underway.

All you needed was a set of rabbit ears. Both Kansas City and Topeka stations carried the Oscars. Free too!!

Pathetic if your life revolves around watching people patting themselves on the back for what?

Watching it doesn't mean your life revolves around it.
Some people find it entertaining.
