KU’s Rychagova ranked No. 1 in singles

After posting a 10-2 singles record in the fall, Kansas junior Anastasia Rychagova was ranked the No. 1 singles player in the country by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association on Wednesday.

It’s the highest ranking by a KU tennis player in program history. Rychagova, from Moscow, had an 8-1 record vs. ranked opponents in the fall season.

“I don’t even know what to say,” Rychagova said. “This is something you hope for in your college career and it just happened. I want to say thank you to all of the people who believed in and supported me.”
