Jim and Leslie White, Baldwin City, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on August 13th at the Baldwin City golf course community building from 2 pm to 5:30 pm. They were married August 5, 1967 at the Fairmount Methodist Church, Fairmount, Kansas. Jim and Leslie have lived in Northeast, Kansas their entire lives. Jim was an educator in Kansas Public Schools for 44 years. Leslie is a mother, grandmother and homemaker. The reception will be hosted by their children, Terri and Matt Twombly, Kevin and Kim White, and Brian and Lori White. Jim and Leslie have two granddaughters, Connor Twombly and Logan White and four grandsons, Isaac, Alex, and Quinn Twombly and Graham White.

On Saturday, August 5, Bill and Peggy (Gossett) Schildberg will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with close family in Lawrence, Kansas. The couple met while attending the University of Kansas, were married August 5, 1967 at St. Mark’s church in Merriam, Kansas and settled in Grandview, Missouri. They were blessed with two children, Michael William and Kristen Ann (Schildberg) Brown, and three grandchildren, Piper, Peyton and Brigham Brown of Denver, Colorado. Peggy retired after more than thirty years as a beloved elementary school teacher. Bill served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and retired after a career as the purchasing manager for Goldblatt and Stanley Tools. They have since spent their time being avid readers, outdoor enthusiasts and amazing grandparents
Goebel and Wallace
After meeting on a blind date that almost didn't happen, Karla Rose Goebel and Paul Ward Wallace, Jr. were wed on August 13, 1977 at Danforth Chapel on the beautiful University of Kansas campus. This Sunday will mark their 40th Anniversary. They are the wonderful parents to daughters Bridget (Paul) Brigham of Merrimack, NH and Abigail (Shawn) Barnes of Denver, CO. They are also the proud Grandma and GrandPaul/ Boy Grandma to four amazing grandchildren; Ezra Brigham, Joah Brigham, Eliah Brigham, and Autumn Barnes. When not traveling between New Hampshire and Colorado to visit family, the two enjoy watching Jayhawk Basketball and spending time with their newest addition to the family, Sadie.
Bill and Joanne Edman will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary on Friday, September 1st. A family celebration was held at their home on Saturday, July 29th. Bill and Joanne were married on September 1, 1957 in Horton, Kansas. They have three children, Von (Beverly), Don (Linda) and Diane Corson (Martin), six grandchildren, Kelli Dunlap (Eric), Matthew Edman, Taylor Corson, Haley Corson, Michael Edman and Morgan Edman and two great¬grandchildren, Zoey Dunlap and Wyatt Dunlap.
