Danny and Judy Samuels will celeb rate their 50 years of love with a reception from noon3 pm. on Saturday, April 8, in the Lake Shawnee Garden House, Topeka. They were married on April 8, 1967 in Eudora, Kansas. Mrs. Samuels is the daughter of Yoland and the late John Reeves of Eudora. She is retired from the State of Kansas as a computer programmer for the Department of Corrections. Mr. Samuels is the son of the late Edith and late Paul Samuels of Lawrence. He is a retired bus driver for the City of Topeka. They have two children, John Samuels and his wife Jessica, of Topeka; and David Samuels and his wife Leslie, of Tecumseh. Their family also includes four grandchildren, Grace, Mackey, Dalton and Evalyn.
Mike and Sandy Patchen, rural Lawrence, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary tomorrow. They were married on April 9, 1967.
Glenn and Rosella Beers, Lawrence, will celebrate their 70th anniversary on April 20th, 2017. Glenn Beers and Rosella House were married on April 20, 1947 in Lawrence, KS. Mr. Beers is retired from Norris Brothers Sheet Metal Departments. Mrs. Beers is a homemaker. The couple have two daughters Linda Stanwix, Lawrence and Marsha Farrier, Georgetown, Texas. They also have one grandson, three grand daughters and four great-granddaughters, three great-grandsons and one great-great-grandson.

Randy and Michelle Barnes of Lawrence, KS are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Carly Michelle Barnes, to Addison Paul Couch, son of Brian and Cindy Couch of Centennial Colorado. The future bride is a graduate of Lawrence Free State High School and received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Hu man Environmental Sciences from the University of Arkansas. She is currently employed with Fayetteville Public Schools. The future groom is a graduate of Cherry Creek High School in Centennial and graduated from the University of Arkansas with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Sports Management. He is currently employed with the athletic department at the University of Arkansas. A June wedding is planned in Fayetteville Arkansas.
Jim and Terry Rood are celebrating their 50th anniversary on April 22nd, 2017. Jim Rood and Terry Best were married in Lawrence, Kansas in 1967 at Trinity Epis copal Church. They have one son, Dan Rood, married to Cyndi Rood. They enjoy retirement, traveling together, great food, and bragging about their two grandchildren, Matt and Allison. Jim and Terry are celebrating their anniversary with a family dinner, love and laughter.
Don & Mary Kay Craig celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary with a dinner joined by their children Michael (Kristy) Thomas and Deborah, their grandchildren and greatgrandchildren. They were married December 15, 1956 in Lawrence and have lived in Lawrence most of their lives.
