Meyers and Burch

D. Keith Meyers and Kim Meyers would like to announce the en­ gagement of their daughter Amy L. Mey­ ers to Jacob M. Burch, son of Barbara and Mi­ chael Burch. Jacob is a 2010 graduate of Fulton High School. He gradu­ ated from Westminster College in 2014 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biochemistry and a Minor in Classical Studies. Amy is a 2011 graduate of Lawrence Free State High School. She graduated from Rockhurst University in 2014 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. Both Amy and Jake are currently third year medical students at A. T. Still University­ Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine. An April wedding in Columbia, MO is planned.

Linda and Robert Orr were married November 5, 1966 in Perry, KS at the Perry Methodist Church. Linda graduated from Lecompton High School. She worked at Hallmark Cards and Bell Tele­ phone Co. She had child day care in the home for 44 years.Robert graduated from Perry High School and Mid­ American Nazarene University. He was in the Navy, worked for the FAA and retired from the US Postal Service.They have three sons, David Orr (Car­ rie) and grandson Jakob, Steeven Orr (Karen) and grand­ children Simon, Ronna and Palin, and Michael Orr (Dr. Maribeth) and grand­ children Truman, Maizey, Lainey and Pullen. They live in rural Linwood and enjoy traveling and grandkids. They celebrated their anniversary with a cruise to Alaska and a reception with family and friends.


Milleret and Reineman

Leanne Renee Milleret and Brett Mi­ chael Reineman are happy to announce their engagement! Leanne is the daughter of Dennis and Carolyn Milleret of Lawrence. The future bride is a 2010 graduate of Lawrence Free State High School and gradu­ ated from Kansas State University with a Bach­ elor’s degree in Agri­ cultural Economics. She is employed at Kansas State University College of Engineering as a Recruitment Co­ ordinator. Brett is the son of Earl and Tammy Reineman of Lawrence. The future groom is a 2009 graduate of Lawrence Free State High School. He is employed at Ed Bozarth Chevrolet as a Drivability Technician. Brett and Leanne plan to wed June 10, 2017 at Heritage Hall in Topeka.



J.D. & Sharon (Lawson) Cleavinger were married on November 19, 1966 in Baldwin City, KS, they were high school sweethearts. Sharon re­ tired in 2011 after 42 years of providing in­ home daycare to many Lawrence families. J.D. taught PE and coached football at West Jr. High until retiring in 1991. He is currently a real estate appraiser. Family and friends will gather for a celebration on Sunday, November 20, 2016 hos­ted by their children and grandchildren. Robinson and Whitehurst

Dr. Scott and Linda Robinson of Lawrence, Kansas, are thrilled to announce the engage­ment of their daughter, Erin Robinson, to Des­ tin Whitehurst, son of Ken and Susan White­ hurst of Shreveport, Louisiana. Ms. Robin­ son graduated with highest distinction from the University of Kansas, worked three years at Deloitte Con­sulting in Kansas City, and currently pursues her MBA at the UC Berkeley Haas School of Business. Mr. Whitehurst graduated from the University of Notre Dame, worked three years at Deloitte Consulting in Phil­adelphia and Houston, and currently pursues his MBA from the Uni­versity of Texas Mc­ Combs School of Business. The couple plans to marry on November 18, 2017, in Austin, Texas, where they plan to live.


Kresky and Kempke

Stephen and Debra Kresky, McPherson, KS announce the engage­ ment of Courtney Kresky to Zachary Kempke, son of Larry and Cynthia Kempke, Lewisville, TX. Grand­ parents of the couple are Laurel Hunsinger and the late Claris Hunsinger of Lawrence, KS; Earl and Fern Kempke of Ellsworth, KS; Jean Ecklund and the late EugeneEcklund of Herington, KS; and Ella Kresky and the late Robert Kresky Jr. of Salina, KS.


Wilson and Williamson

Amy and Mark Wilson are pleased to announce the engage­ment of their daughter Kensley Wilson to Mar­cus Williamson, son of Marvel and Paul Willi­amson. All are from Lawrence. Kensley is a graduate of the Uni­versity of Kansas, and is currently a Montessori teacher in Prairie Village. Marcus is a Ph.D candidate in the Political Science Department at the University of Kansas. An April 2017 wedding is planned.



Cathie and Fred were married in Sun­ rise, Florida on November 24, 1976. Cathie received a B.A. In Political Sci­ence/Philosophy from Marygrove Col­lege, Detroit, Michigan. She re­ceived a B.S.N. and M.S.N. from the Uni­versity of Alabama in Birmingham with graduate specialty in Adult Psychiatric Mental Health Nurs­ing. She held posi­tions as Assistant Professor of Nursing at St. Mary, Notre Dame and Washburn University. Clinically, she practiced at The Menninger Clinic and local mental health centers. She is published nationally and internationally in care of Self­Harm cli­ents and aspects of staff downsizing. She served on the B.O.D.Of APNA and ANA. Fred served two tours in Vietnam as a Squad Leader with Navy Mobile Con­struction Battalion 7 . He received the Navy Commendation Medal for meritori­ous service. He was a General Contractor and Real Estate Broker in Colorado following service. In Kansas he was Director of Opera­tion at the Kansas Expocenter for 8 years. He received a Bachelor of Business Administration from Washburn University. He was Associate Director at the Lied Center for 14 years, Interim Director of the Spencer Museum of Art, and Executive Director of KU Con­tinuing Education for eight years prior to retirement in 2014.


Bryn and Vaughn

Amy and Mike Byrn are pleased to an­nounce the engagement of their daughter Lauren Elizabeth Byrn to David Elliot Vaughn, son of Melissa and Dav­id Vaughn. All are from Lawrence. Lauren is a 2012 graduate of Lawrence High School. She received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from Washburn University in May 2016. She is currently an RN for Lawrence Pediat­rics. Elliot is also a 2012 graduate of Lawrence High School. He also attended Wash­ burn University. He is currently working for the Shawnee County Sheriff's Office and will graduate from the KLETC Academy in December. The couple plans to marry on December 30, 2017, in Lawrence.
