The future groom is a 2001 graduate of Fredonia High School, Fredonia, KS, and a 2013 graduate of the University of Kansas. Shannon Rae Hutchens and Jacob Andrew Ross, both of Lawrence, Kansas were married on May 31, 2014 at First United Methodist Church in Lawrence with Reverend Mitch Todd officiating. The bride is the daughter of Rebecca Hutchens, Liberty, Missouri, and James Hutchens, Independence, Missouri. The groom is the son of David Ross, Lawrence, and Connie Ross, Spicewood, Texas. A reception was held following the wedding ceremony at The Arterra Event Gallery in Lawrence. The bride obtained her Bachelors of Science in Nursing from Sinclair School of Nursing at the University of Missouri-Columbia in 2006. She now works as a registered nurse in the Medical Intensive Care Unit at The University of Kansas Hospital in Kansas City, Kansas. The groom obtained his Bachelors of General Studies from the University Of Kansas in 2008. He is now employed by Lawrence-Douglas County Fire Medical as a Firefighter/EMT. The couple resides in Lawrence.
John and Kathleen Dvorske were married on July 4, 1964 in East Chicago, Indiana. They reside in Lawrence, Kansas at Brandon Woods. John retired from Yellow Freight System in Overland Park, Kansas after twenty five years of service. Kathleen, a lifelong grade school teacher, retired on the same day as John from Holy Trinity School in Lenexa, Kansas. They have three sons: John (Erika), Stephen (Jeana), and Thomas (Tiffany). Courtney is a 2006 graduate of Eastern Illinois University and currently works for the The University of Kansas Medical Center. Frank and Betty Baron intend to continue celebrating, with a family trip to Berkeley, CA, where they were married in the garden of the First Unitarian Church, on July 12, 1964. Frank taught German at KU, and Betty taught English at various colleges in the Kansas City area. They have two children, Christopher and Maya, and a daughter-in-law, Beth Skinner. Nicole Bellinder and Adam Benson, both of Kearney, MO announce their engagement. She is the daughter of Geoffrey and Brenda Kirkendall of Lawrence and Jerry Bellinder of Manhattan, KS. He is the son of Gary and Sharon Benson of Liberty, MO. The future bride graduated from McLouth High School in May of 2004. She earned an Associates of Science degree in 2005 from Coffeyville Community College. She is employed by MOST Programs in Kansas City, KS. The future groom graduated from Liberty High School in May of 2001. He attended Missouri Western State University for three years and attended Metropolitan Community College at Blue River where he earned his Fire Fighter and Emergency Medical Technician licenses. He earned his Paramedic license at Central Jackson County Fire Protection District. He is employed at the City of Liberty Missouri Fire Department as a Firefighter/Paramedic. The couple plans an evening wedding on January 2, 2015 at St. James Catholic Church in Liberty, MO.

Keith Noe and Carol Byrne were married July 25, 1964 in Stanton, California. They will celebrate 50 years of marriage Saturday, July 26th. Keith and Carol have four children Carl (Jaana) Noe, Travis (Michelle) Noe, Jason (Jeri Anne) Noe and a daughter, Angela Noe, who went home to be with the Lord in 1987. They are blessed with 10 grandchildren. The bride is the daughter of Will and Toni Shockley, Lawrence, Kansas. The groom is the son of Jeffrey and Barbara Haney, Lecompton, Kansas. The bride obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Social Welfare from the University of Kansas in May 2014 and is now employed as a Residential Care Specialist at Kids TLC in Olathe, Kansas. The groom has been employed by the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office as a Correctional Officer in Lawrence, Kansas since 2010. The couple, who reside together in Lawrence, Kansas, are planning a fall wedding reception.

Saturday, July 26, 2014, Linda and Jim Ballinger will renew their vows at 2:00 PM, at the First United Methodist Church in Baldwin City, where they were married. They have two daughters, Heather Ballinger and Deena Winkeler; son-in-law, Jay Winkeler; and three grandchildren, Fox, Teegan, and Quinn Winkeler . Linda and Jim are proud and happy to have achieved this milestone and to have joined both sets of parents and three sets of grandparents, who also spent fifty plus years in wedded bliss.
Dr. William and Kay Campbell celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary at Big Cedar near Branson on July 11th. They were joined by their three children and their families for a dinner in their honor. Bill and Kay were married in Iola, Ks on July 11, 1964 at the First Presbyterian Church.
Nick & Tina Coachman will celebrate their 40th anniversary on July 20th. They were married in 1974 at the home of Tina’s parents on the Kickapoo Reservation in Horton, KS. They raised two sons, Nick Jr. (Julie) who lives in Littleton,CO & David (Mary) who lives in Shawnee, KS. They have a four month old granddaughter, Evelyn Noelle. Nick Sr. is retired from Haskell Indian Nations University and Tina continues to work there in the Housing Dept. Dr. and Mrs. Warren T. Culver celebrate their 70th Wedding Anniversary, July 29, 2014. Warren and Katherine married in Penns Park, Pennsylvania, 1944. Their life together included Warren’s career as an Air Force physician and hospital commander at Forbes AFB, Topeka, Kansas. Military life was followed by another 15 years serving the Lawrence community with a civilian ophthalmology practice. Lawrence residents since 1968, Warren and Katherine have been faithful members of the Lawrence First United Methodist Church for 46 years. They were blessed with five children: Ron (wife Leigh), Lee (wife Marty), Barbara, Warren Jr. and James (wife Mona), and now have seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
