Bock and Kamara

Susan Bock and Shelley Kurt Bock of Lawrence announce the engagement of their daughter, Kristin Andrea Bock, to Kei Ansu Kamara, son of Fatima Nelson of Los Angeles, CA. The future bride is a 2001 graduate of Lawrence Free State High School. She received her Bachelor of Science degree from Baker University in 2005 in Mass Communications and Sports Administration, and Master of Science degree in Sports Studies from the University of Kansas in 2009. Kristin was formerly employed by Sporting Club, serving as the Manager of the Sporting Club Network for Sporting Kansas City. The future groom is a 2003 graduate of Leuzinger High School in Lawndale, CA. He attended California State University Dominguez Hills. Kei, a former Sporting Kansas City player, is currently playing professionally for Middlesbrough Football Club in Middlesbrough, England. The couple currently resides in Yarm, England. A June 2014 wedding is planned in Kansas City, MO.


Dawson and Halpin

Mr. and Mrs. Stewart Dawson, Celina TX and Mr. Patrick Halpin and Mrs. Erin Callahan-Halpin, Lawrence KS announce the engagement of their children Carrie A.Dawson and Cuyler P. Halpin, Tuscon AZ. Carrie is a graduate from The Hockaday School (2001) and from Southern Methodist University (2005), with a Bachelor in Business Management. Cuyler graduated from Lawrence High, (2002), from The University of Dubuque (2006) with a BS in Management and Flight Operations, and an MS of Education - Aviation Concentration from Trident University (2011). Carrie is employed as Engineering Tech at Browning Oil Company, and Cuyler is employed as an F-16 Pilot in the United States Air Force. Their wedding service will be February 15, 2014 at Northway Christian Church, in Dallas, TX.


Birchfield and Young

Jodi Lee and Steve Birchfield of Lawrence, Kansas along with Donna Gallo of Flagstaff, Arizona announce the engagement of their son, Anthony Birchfield to Katie Young, both of Prairie Village, Kansas. Katie is the daughter of Chris and Pam Young of Derby, Kansas. A wedding is planned to be held on September 13, 2014.


Scheetz and Appelman

Mary Kay and Lee Howe of Lawrence, and Joseph and Barbara Scheetz of Smithville, Missouri are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Hayley Ann Scheetz, to Carl Edward Appelman, son of Mary and Michael Hyde of Pretty Prairie, and Mark Appelman of Wichita. The future bride is a 2009 graduate of Lawrence High School, and a 2012 graduate of Baker University with a Bachelor’s degree of Science in Nursing. She is currently employed as a Registered Nurse at The University of Kansas Hospital in the Medical Intensive Care Unit. The future groom is a 2010 graduate of Goddard High School, and will graduate this May from The University of Kansas with a Bachelor’s degree of Science in Genetics. He is currently employed as a phlebotomist at Lawrence Memorial Hospital. The couple plan a May 31, 2014 wedding in Lawrence, Kansas.


LaRosh and Flanagan

Michael & Christine Wenger and Donald & Jacky Tidwell, of Lawrence, Kansas are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter Nicki (Wenger) LaRosh, to Blake Flanagan, son of Thomas & Connie Flanagan, of Topeka, Kansas. Nicki graduated from Lawrence High School in 2001. She earned a Bachelor’s Degree from Kansas State University in 2005 in Hotel & Restaurant Management and a Minor in Business Administration; she works for Home Depot’s Distribution Center in Topeka as the Inventory Control & Quality Assurance Operations Manager. Blake graduated from Seaman High School in 1994. He earned a Bachelor’s Degree from Washburn University in 1998 in Criminal Justice/Pre Law and a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Information Science. He is employed at Bartlett & West Engineering as a GIS Project Manager in Topeka, Kansas. The couple plan a summer 2014 wedding.

Robert and Fran Johnson of Lawrence, announce the marriage of their son, Bart Johnson to Shahnaj Akther on January 8, 2014. The couple reside in Delaware.
