John and Celia Boyne Schuh, Lawrence, announce the engagement of their daughter, Abigail Caithleen Boyne Schuh, to Samuel Thomas Delisio, both of Buenos Aires. The future bride is a 2005 graduate of Free State High School and received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in History and Art History from Indiana University in 2009. She recently left her position as the Assistant Director of the Community Involvement Center at Rice University in Houston, TX to relocate to Argentina and pursue a Master’s Degree. The future groom is the son of Tom and Sue Delisio, Cincinnati, OH. He is a 2005 graduate of St. Xavier High School. He earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in International Business Law and Spanish from Indiana University in 2009. He is employed by National Oilwell Varco (NOV) as the Business Development Manager for Argentina, Chile and Brazil. The couple plan an August 31, 2013 wedding in St. Louis, MO.
Richard (Dick) and Ruth Logan celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary May 29, 2013. Dick and Ruth were high school sweethearts from the towns of Quenemo and Williamsburg, KS. Dick and Ruth exchanged wedding vows at the Danforth Chapel on KU’s campus May 29, 1953. Dick spent a short stint in the Air Force as a pilot before Dick and Ruth moved back to Lawrence in 1958 and have made it home since. They have 3 children; Julie and Lance of Lawrence and Rick of Pratt, KS. They have 8 grandchildren.
Bill and Sharon (Springer) Elkins were married June 1, 1963, at Plymouth Congregational Church, Lawrence. They have three wonderful children: Anita “Nikki” Elkins-Spieth (Jack), Rising Sun, Maryland; Melissa “Misty” Elkins, Lawrence, Kansas; and William L. Elkins, Jr. (Wendy), Olathe, Kansas. They are extremely proud of their grandson Zach Spieth. They will celebrate, in June, with a family dinner, and take a second honeymoon in the fall.
Marsha and Michael L. Pomes of Lawrence celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary with a reception at the Lawrence Country Club on Saturday, May 11. They were married on May 15, 1988, in Hays, where they met as students at Fort Hays State University. Marsha is an independent distributor with Life Vantage, Sandy, Utah, and Michael is an Environmental Scientist with the federal government in Lenexa. Friends, coworkers, and family attended the reception, including daughters, Jennifer Pomes, Sarah Trodgon, her husband, Josh, and daughter, Genevieve; Marsha’s sister, Linda Hubbard, Topeka; Michael’s parents, William and Judith Pomes, Milwaukee; and brother, Jim, his wife Nancy, Whitefish Bay, Wis., and their sons Matthew, Andrew, and Benjamin. The celebration continued to Sunday, May 12, when Michael played guitar and sang Paul Stookey’s “The Wedding Song” to Marsha during the 10:45 a.m. service at BridgePointe Community Church in Lawrence.

Natalie Lynne Skaggs and Casey Alan Nelson were married on March 16, 2013 at Eudora Baptist Church in Eudora. Following the ceremony, a reception was held at Brooklyn Hall at Enright Gardens in Edgerton. Natalie is the daughter of Mike and Michelle Skaggs, Gardner, and the granddaughter of Jeremiah and Cynthia Jacobs, Kansas City, KS. Casey is the son of Jeff and Lana Nelson, Eudora, and Linda Nelson and J.R. Demby, Lawrence. Casey is the grandson of Elizabeth Votaw, Lawrence.

Kelsie Anne Lange and Joseph Arnold Brown were married March 23, 2013, at Grace Evangelical Presbyterian Church in Lawrence, with the Rev. William D. Vogler, officiating. The bride is the daughter of Mark and Lori Lange, Lawrence. The groom is the son of Sheri Brown, Shawnee, and Gene and Wendy Brown, Raymore, Missouri. Matron of honor was Katie Baldwin. Best man was Reggie Brown. The bride’s attendants were Samantha Barnes, Heidi Hackel, Katie Lange, Sammy Wheeler, Savannah Thomas, Emily Lange and Nicki Brown. The groom’s attendants were Robbie Thomas, Tyler Cindrich, Hunter Williams, Kerry Cobb, Joe McQuillan, Scot Lange and Matt Baldwin. The flower girl was Isabelle Bartlow and the ring bearer was Cody Lange. The ushers were Ben Davis and Timothy Nunnink. Following the ceremony, a dinner and reception was held at Maceli’s, with cupcakes from Billy Vanilly. Kelsie is a graduate of Free State High School. Joseph graduated from Shawnee Mission Northwest High School. They both received degrees from the University of Kansas in May of 2012. The couple reside in Littleton, Colorado, where Joseph is in graduate school at Denver Seminary.

The future groom graduated from Lincoln County High School in Eureka, MT, in 2001, and from Dartmouth College in 2005. He received a Master’s in Hydrology from Colorado School of Mines in 2007, and is working towards a doctorate in Applied Mathematics from the University of Colorado Boulder. Gary and Harriett Hamon will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on June 22nd. They were married in Effingham, Kansas in 1963 and have lived in Lawrence since 1989. They own Capital Belt & Supply, Inc. in Topeka and are both still active in the business along with their two sons, Troy and Travis. John G. and Virginia Sayler of Lawrence recently celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary with their family. John and Virginia were married on June 23, 1963 at the United Methodist Church in Claflin, Kansas. John retired as director of The University of Kansas Printing Services in 2005 and Virginia retired in 2007 after working in The University of Kansas Graduate School. Their children, (Karen, deceased), John M. (Kristen), Sara and Laura (David), and grandchildren Jacob, Karen, Elisabeth, and Daniel joined John and Virginia in their celebration.
Janine and Charlie Wurm will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on June 29th. They were high school sweethearts, who met in 1958 at Haverstraw High School, in Haverstraw, New York. They have two children, Nina Wurm Limesand (Kurt) of Lawrence and Chip Wurm (Erin) of Kansas City as well as four grandchildren, Zoe, Lauren, Claire and Max. Janine is a retired social worker. Charlie is a retired Army officer, who later retired as a physician assistant. They reside in Lawrence.
