He earned a Doctor of Medicine from Johns Hopkins University in 2007 and completed his internal medicine residency with Duke University in 2010. He worked as an internal medicine doctor from 2010 to 2011 with Cogent Healthcare, Nashville, TN, and is presently in his second year of cardiology fellowship with the University of Colorado-Denver. Allison Linn Thomas, Santa Rosa, CA, and David Andrew Low, Lawrence, were married June 2, 2012, at Vine Hill House in Sebastopol, California, with the Rev. Peadar Dalton officiating. The bride is the daughter of Scott Thomas, Windsor, CA and Tomasina Thomas, Santa Rosa, CA. The groom is the son of Diane and Donald Low, and Denise Low-Weso and Thomas Weso, all of Lawrence. Maid of honor was Amy Ramirez, the bride’s cousin. Best man was Daniel Low, the groom’s brother. Bridesmaids were Nancy Lefler-Panela, Erin Hall, and Gina O’Looney. Groomsmen were Brandon Thomas, the bride’s brother; Mark Chediak, formerly of Lawrence; and Ian Bettinger. Also attending from Lawrence, were Charles and Carol Jones, Geoff Deman and Ashley Tippin. The groom’s mother, Denise Low-Weso, read a wedding poem during the ceremony. A reception followed at Vine Hill House. The bride earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Oregon and a Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of California-San Francisco. She is employed at Kaiser Permanente Santa Rosa Medical Center. The groom is a graduate of Lawrence High School. He studied at the University of California-Berkeley and is currently the assistant winemaker at Papa-pietro Perry Winery and owner/partner of Anthill Farms Winery. After a honeymoon in Italy, the couple resides in Healdsburg, CA. They met at the Healdsburg Parkpoint Athletic Club, where the bride was employed.

The bride earned Bachelor’s Degrees in journalism and mass communications in 2006 and in communication studies in 2007 from the University of Kansas. She is employed by Grey Healthcare Group in Kansas City. The groom earned a Bachelor’s Degree in journalism and mass communications in 2007 from the University of Kansas. He is employed by AMC Theatres District Office in Kansas City, Missouri.

Sarah Howard, Lecompton, and Dalton Walker, Bonner Springs, were married on Saturday, May 26, 2012 at Grace Evangelical Presbyterian Church with Pastor John McDermott officiating. The bride is the daughter of Greg and Carol Howard, Lecompton. The groom is the son of James and Kimberly Walker, Bonner Springs. The bride graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in music education from the University of Kansas in 2011. She is employed by the McLouth School District. The groom is attending Concorde University in respiratory therapy. The couple reside in Bonner Springs.
Don and Ruth Ann Nutt, Baldwin City, celebrate their 70th wedding anniversary on September 20th. Don Nutt and Ruth Ann Yocum were married at the First Methodist Church in Osawatomie, KS on September 20th, 1942. The Nutts moved to Baldwin City, KS in 1946 where Don attended Baker University, graduating in 1950, and the couple built their family life there from 1946 until today. Children and spouses are Mike and Denise Nutt, Chicago IL, Mark and Patty Nutt, Bedford NH, and David and Suzanne Nutt, Lawrence KS. They have seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Samuel and Susan Crawford, Eudora, celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. They were married on September 6, 1952, in Eudora, KS. The couple have two sons and one daughter, Samuel Crawford Jr., Eudora, Richard Crawford, Great Falls, MT and Linda Abel, Eudora; 5 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

Joanna and Darrell Ward of Lawrence recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. They were married Aug. 30th, 1952 in Enid, Okla. They have been active members of Southside Church of Christ for 53 years. They have resided in Lawrence since 1959, where they both taught in the Lawrence schools until retirement. During retirement they have enjoyed volunteer work and winter travel. They had 3 children: Suzanne Bowman, Mission, KS, Daniel Ward, Lawrence and David Ward, now deceased. They have four grandchildren, two step grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. The children and grandchildren plan a reception for them on Oct. 6th at the Lawrence Visitors Center.
