He is a 2000 graduate of Wichita Northwest High School. He earned an associate’s degree from Allen County Community College and is studying for an accounting degree at Kansas University. Lucero and Shapiro

He earned bachelor’s degrees in journalism and political science from the University of Iowa and a master’s degree in sports management from Wichita State University. Farley and Burns
Randy and Marcia Farley, Lawrence, announce the engagement of their daughter, Laura Farley, to Jack Burns, both of Las Vegas. The future bride is a 2001 graduate of Free State High School. She earned a bachelor’s degree in architectural engineering from Kansas University in 2006 and is attending the University of Nevada Las Vegas for a master’s degree in business administration. She is employed by The Whiting-Turner Contracting Company. The future groom is the son of Joe and Mary Burns, Las Vegas. He is a 2000 graduate of Bishop Gorman High School in Las Vegas. He earned a bachelor’s degree in architectural engineering from the University of Colorado–Boulder in 2005. He will earn a J.D. from the University of Nevada Las Vegas School of Law and will be a law clerk for a federal Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals judge in 2011. The couple plan a May 14, 2011, wedding at Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Lawrence.
Taylor and Fishburn
Kristy Taylor, Miller, Mo., and Andrew Fishburn, Lawrence, were married Sept. 25, 2010 in Oahu, Hawaii, with the bride’s uncle, Darren Ray officiating. The bride is the daughter of Tom and DeeAnn Taylor, Miller. The groom is the son of Allen and SanDe Fishburn, Lawrence. Maid of honor was Tosha Ballinger. Best man was Dustin Ballinger. Bridesmaids were Lacy Taylor and Jenny Fishburn. Groomsmen were Bryan Fishburn and Matthew Fishburn. An island reception was given at Germaine’s Luau and a return reception was given at A Midwest Premiere in Overland Park. The bride is a 2001 graduate of Miller High School. She graduated from Fort Scott Community College in 2003 and earned an agriculture education degree from Kansas State University in 2006. The groom is a 2001 graduate of Lawrence High School. He also graduated from FSCC in 2003 and earned an agriculture education degree from K-State in 2006. The couple reside in Eudora.
Eddie and Marjean Klotz, Lawrence, will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary on April 29 with a card shower. Edgar Klotz and Marjean Macey were married April 29, 1951, at the Otterbein Church in Topeka with the Rev. Allen Kellogg officiating. Eddie retired from Ed Marling’s after 38 years. Marjean retired from USD 497 after 15 years and Ed Marling’s after six years. They have four children, Connie and Don Van Horne, Las Vegas; Allen and Ariana Klotz, Murphy, Texas; Craig Klotz, Lawrence; and Robert Klotz, Kissimmee, Fla.; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Katie and Randy Woodson, Perry, will celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary today at home with their children and grandchildren. Katherine Baecker and Randall Woodson were married April 23, 1971, in Miami, Okla. Randy retired from ICL in North Lawrence. They have two children, Brenda Bowman and Randy Woodson; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
