Sarah Kimberly Johnson and Brandon Daniel Riffel, both of Lawrence, were married April 26, 2010, in Kapalua, Maui, Hawaii, with the Rev. Laki officiating. The bride is the daughter of Robert and Julie Johnson, Topeka, and Jamie and Jerry Medaris, Lawrence. The groom is the son of Tom and Laura Riffel, Overland Park. Owen Grieb and Yoko Eto, both of Tokyo, formerly of Lawrence, were married March 28, 2010, at the Aoshima Shinto Shrine on Aoshima Island, off of Miyazaki, Japan. The ceremony was led by Chief Priest Yasutaka Nagatomo. The bride is the daughter of Chizumi Eto of Saiki, Japan, and the late Yuji Eto. The groom is the son of Steven Grieb and Carol Grieb, both of Lawrence. Prepared tributes were made to the couple by the groom’s father and sister; the bride’s uncle, Kiyohiko Kan, and her sister, Yuri Eto; and friends: Kevin Campbell, David Trevino, Takao Shibata, Eri Uchida and Saori Shibata. The groom’s sister, Lauren Grieb, accompanied him into the hall. The bride’s brother, Shinsuke Eto, accompanied her into the hall. The reception was held at the Aoshima Palm Beach Hotel in Miyazaki, Japan. The bride is a graduate of Kansas University and is teaching English as a foreign language at Bunkyo University Junior and Senior High schools. The groom is a graduate of KU School of Law and is working for the firm of Deloitte-Touche Tohmatsu. The couple reside in Tokyo.

He is enlisted with the Kansas Air National Guard and is based out of Forbes Field in Topeka, where he is apart of the 190th Air Refueling Wing’s Security Forces Squadron, and currently holds the rank of Airman First Class.
