College in 2006 and is a freelance film producer in New York. The groom is the son of Norman and Janet Reid, Colchester. He earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from Essex University in 2002 and a master’s degree in education from City College of New York in 2008. He is a middle school math teacher and freelance director in Brooklyn, N.Y. The couple reside in Brooklyn.

Dailey

Dennis and Judy Dailey, Lawrence, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Friday with family. Judy Brown and Dennis Dailey were married Dec. 17, 1960, in Woodbury, Minn. The couple moved to Lawrence in 1969. Dennis is a retired professor emeritus of social welfare at Kansas University. Judy was a clinical social worker at Lawrence Memorial Hospital and served in the ministry for older adults at First United Methodist Church. They have two daughters, Lisa and husband Jeff Dehon, and Amy and husband Tad Cooper; and three grandchildren Max Dehon, and Wes and Grace Cooper.

Lois and John Ames, Lawrence, will celebrate their 65th wedding anniversary on Tuesday. The couple were married Dec. 14, 1945, in Arkansas City. John retired from the Lawrence school district after 32 years. Lois retired from Standard Mutual Life Insurance Company after 22 years. They have a daughter, Paula Gaskill and husband Steve, Sacramento, Calif.; a son, Mark and wife Betsy, Columbia, Mo.; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

The Dolezals celebrated their anniversary earlier with their daughter and her husband on a Caribbean cruise in October. The couple were married on Dec. 26, 1960, at the First Presbyterian Church in Topeka. Loren’s career was in the film industry as an animation photographer and sound recorder. Bev retired in May after a 48-year career as an early childhood teacher. They have a a daughter, Becky Parks and husband the Rev. Tom, Muskegon, Mich.; two sons, Darry, Columbia, Mo., and Bryan and wife Ruthie, Marion, Iowa; and 11 grandchildren. The couple request no gifts.

Chris and Larry Day, Lawrence, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Dec. 17 in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The couple were married Dec. 17, 1960, in Utah. They lived in Lawrence from 1966 to 1988 and from 2000 to the present. They lived in Pensacola, Fla., for 12 years. The Days also lived in Buenos Aires right after they were married, and again from 1974 to 1975 with their children. Both have worked in education. Chris worked in the Lawrence and Pensacola school districts, and Larry worked at Kansas University and the University of West Florida. They have a daughter, Stefani Day and husband Christopher , Salt Lake City; a son, David and wife Jennifer, Lawrence; and two grandchildren.

Tom and Alberta Pyle, Eudora, will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary with a Mass of Thanksgiving Jan. 1 with family and friends. Following the Mass, the family will celebrate with a family dinner. Alberta Schopper and Tom Pyle were married Dec. 30, 1950, at Holy Family Church in Eudora by the bride’s uncle, the Rev. Henry Grosdidier. Tom owned and operated Pyle Meat Company for 50 years. Alberta was a homemaker and baker. They are members of Holy Family Church in Eudora. The couple have four sons, Joe and wife Andrea, Eudora, Ed and wife Mary, Lenexa, Pat and wife Sandy, Olathe, and Tom, Eudora; three daughters, Rose House and husband Dave, Bernadette Fulks and husband Roger, and Roberta Lehmann and husband Dirk, all of Eudora; 34 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
