The future bride is a 2003 graduate of Wichita Southeast High School. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in education in 2007 and a Masters of Science degree in health education in 2008, both from Kansas University. She is employed with a private business. The future groom is the son of Timothy and Rhonda Hood, Creston, Iowa. He is a 2003 graduate of Creston High School. He earned a Bachelor of General Studies degree in history from KU in 2007 and a Master of Arts degree in athletic administration from the University of South Dakota in 2008. He is a graduate assistant and running backs coach for Marshall University and the Thundering Herd football team. Adriane Fleck and Stacy Kaufman, both of Overland Park, were married Nov. 15, 2008, at The Loretto in Kansas City, Mo., with the Rev. Don Davidson officiating. The bride is the daughter of James and Coleen Fleck, Madisonville, Ky. The groom is the son of Jimmie and Opal Kaufman, Eudora. Maid of honor was Jennifer Fleck. Best man was Nick Nikkah. Bridesmaids were Leigh Ingram, Kacie Kaufman, Andrea Runyon and Amy Welch. Groomsmen were Aaron Dardis, Mark Kaufman, John Hylton and Krystopher Hylton. Usher was Shane Kaufman. Guest book attendants were Allison Ross and Brittany Rumage. A reception and dance followed at The Loretto. The bride is a graduate of Madisonville North Hopkins High School and attended the University of Kentucky. She is an account executive for Estee Lauder in the Kansas and Missouri areas. The groom graduated from Eudora High School and earned Bachelor of Science degrees in international business marketing and management information systems from Kansas State University in 2001. He is the manager at Sherwin-Williams floor covering in Lenexa. The couple reside in Overland Park.

Rockhold

Leonard and Alice Rockhold, Baldwin City, will celebrate their 50th anniversary with a card shower. Cards may be sent to the couple at 1720 N. 500 Road, Baldwin City, KS 66006. Leonard Rockhold and Alice Deay were married April 16, 1959, at Vinland United Methodist Church. The Rockholds are lifelong Douglas County residents. Leonard was a truck driver for 23 years. He also worked for the state of Kansas, retiring in July 2005. Alice retired from the Baldwin City School District USD 348 in May 2004. The couple has two daughters, Julie Tesch and husband Mark, Lawrence, and Stacey Leslie, Baldwin City; and three grandchildren, Sunney Tesch and Paige and Blake Leslie.

Williams

Williams Lewis and Marlene Williams, Perry, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a reception, hosted by their family, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. April 18 at the Buck Creek Schoolhouse, five miles east of Perry, off U.S. Highway 24. Lewis Williams Jr. and Marlene Gentry were married April 18, 1959, at Perry Methodist Church by the Rev. Walter Simpson. They have lived on the family farm east of Williamstown since 1960. Lewis retired from Hallmark Cards in Lawrence after 37 years of service and continues to farm. Marlene is a homemaker and has served their church and community in many capacities over the years. Their children are Rhonda and Phil Perry, Oskaloosa; Richard and Kelly Williams, Perry; and the Rev. Barry and Pam Williams, Madison, Neb. They have nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Robinson

W. Stitt and Connie Robinson, Lawrence, celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary March 29 with a reception, hosted by their children, Barry and Robert Cook, Leawood, and Walter and Linda Robinson, Seattle, at the Smith Center of Brandon Woods at Alvamar. They were married March 18, 1944. Connie was a teacher in the elementary and junior high schools of Lawrence, and served as the president of the University Women’s Club, the Friends of the Spencer Museum of Art and Zodiac Literary Club. Stitt served for four years in World War II in the European Theater as a captain of a glider unit of the 82nd Airborne Division. He was a member of the Kansas University Department of History from 1950 until his retirement in 1988, and served as department chair from 1968 to 1973. He is the author of 11 books and over 40 scholarly articles. The couple reside at Brandon Woods at Alvamar.

Alvin H. and Joyce Schild, Lawrence, will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary with a family celebration. They were married on the bride’s birthday, April 14, 1949, by the Rev. Peter Schild, the groom’s father, in Norwood, Minn. Both received graduate degrees from the University of Iowa. Alvin is an emeritus professor of education at Kansas University. Joyce is an artist and previous Phoenix award winner. They have lived in Lawrence since 1950. They have three daughters, Linda Twitchell, Bellingham, Wash., Darcy Schild, Lawrence, and Crystal Carstens and husband Ken, San Antonio, Texas; and four grandchildren.

Dale and Judy Steinmetz Fowler, Perry, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on April 24. The couple were married April 24, 1959, at Williamstown Assembly of God. Dale retired in 1993 after 27 years of service at Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company because of multiple sclerosis. Judy retired in 2002 after 19 years of service as secretary of the asphalt division for N.R. Hamm Quarries and Construction. They have a son, Eric and wife Sheila, Wellsville; and a one grandson. The bride is a 1992 graduate of Lawrence High School and earned a bachelor’s degree in voice from Kansas University in 1997 and a master’s degree in opera performance from KU in 1999. She is a freelance professional classical soprano soloist and ensemble singer with such groups as the Austin, Texas-based, four-time Grammy-nominated Conspirare and the Miami-based choral ensemble Seraphic Fire. The groom is a 1992 graduate of Coronado High School, El Paso, Texas. He earned a bachelor’s degree in voice from the University of Texas in 1996 and is the production director with Zenimax Online Studios. The couple reside in Baltimore.
