Thomas "Joe" and Ann Moore celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary with a family dinner at the Eldridge Hotel on Oct. 12. The couple were married Oct. 10, 1948 in Lincoln, Ark. Joe retired from the Williams Company (formerly Cities Service Gas Company) after 30 years of service. He began employment in 1953 at one of the company's natural gas compressor stations in Wichita, followed by moves to Ulysses, Tonganoxie and Oklahoma City. He was a dispatcher at the corporate offices in Oklahoma City before retiring in 1983. Ann was a hairdresser in Tonganoxie and Lawrence for many years, and also worked for the Shutex Corporation in Oklahoma City. Through the years they have been involved in family-oriented activities. They were active and performed leadership roles in the Tonganoxie Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts and Little League baseball. They were also supporters of the Tonganoxie High School football and basketball teams. They have a son, Michael, and his wife, Elizabeth, who reside in Lawrence, and a grandson, in Arlington, Va. After their retirement, the couple relocated to Lawrence and enjoy dancing, bridge, travel and gardening.

Tonya Lynn Gimzo, Perry, and Parker James DaVatz, Lawrence, were married Sept. 6, 2008, at Lecompton United Methodist Church with the Rev. Kenneth Baker officiating. The bride is the daughter of Michael and Pam Gimzo, Perry. The groom is the son of Terry and Teresa DaVatz, Lawrence. Maid of honor was Whitney Brown. Best man was James Marten. Bridesmaids were Tosha Gimzo, Michaela Gimzo, Amber Garcia and Ashley DaVatz. Groomsmen were Tyler Runnells, Shane Gimzo and Jamie VanMeter. Guest book attendants were Kristen Stouffer and Aaron Miller. A reception was given at the American Legion in Perry. The bride is a 2005 graduate of Perry-Lecompton High School. She is employed by Boston Financial in Lawrence. The groom is a 2002 graduate of Perry-Lecompton High School. He is employed by Riverfront Harley-Davidson in Lawrence. The couple reside in Lawrence.
Harold "Dutch" and Mary Conner, Lawrence, celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary playing music with the Western Echoes county band on Oct. 6 in Kansas City, Kan. The couple were married Oct. 6, 1943, in Lawrence.

Gina Bailey-Carbaugh, Lawrence, announces the engagement of her daughter, Caitlin Carbaugh, Lawrence, to Anthony Thomas, Paxico. The future bride is also the daughter of James Carbaugh, North Fort Myers, Fla. She is a 2008 graduate of Lawrence High School. The future groom is the son of Joe Gilbert, Paxico, and Ann and Glenn Wise, Baldwin City. He is a 2004 graduate of Baldwin High School. He is employed with Whiteley's Pallet & Blocking in Topeka. The couple plan a Nov. 8, 2008, wedding at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Paxico.
Lindstrom and Davenport
Erika Shawn Davenport and Matthew Robert Lindstrom were married June 6, 2008, in Alexandria, Va., with Dennis Mersberger officiating. The bride is the daughter of Richard and Rhonda Davenport, Lawrence. The groom is the son of Bob and Nancy Lindstrom, Salmon, Idaho. The couple reside in Alexandria, Va., where the groom is stationed at Bolling Air Force Base. In January 2009, they will move to Anchorage, Alaska, for reassignment to Elmendorf Air Force Base.

Dennis Williams and Sharon Dominik, and Judy and Dale Sawyer, all of Lawrence, announce the engagement of their daughter, Kelli Williams, to Kyle Christensen, both of Orlando, Fla. She earned a degree in computer animation from Full Sail University in Winter Park, Fla. She is a project manager for the themed construction company Sparks Exhibits in Orlando. The future groom is a 2003 graduate of Oshkosh North High School. He also earned a degree in computer animation from Full Sail University. He is a studio artist in visual effects for Full Sail University. The couple plan a March 21, 2009, wedding in Orlando.

The bride is the daughter of Jerry Wise, Topeka, and Sandy Vanatta, Lecompton. The groom is the son of Rick and Jane Bailey, Lawrence. Maid of honor was Cindy Wilson. The bride is a 2000 graduate of Perry-Lecompton High School. She is studying radiology at Washburn University and plans to graduate in 2009. The groom is a 1999 graduate of Lawrence High School. He is self-employed in construction. The couple reside in Lawrence.
