The bride is the daughter of Tracy Hornbeck, Milwaukee, and Amy Carr, Lawrence. The groom is the son of David and Marianne Giles, Shawnee. Maid of honor was Melissa DeBruin. Best man was Scott Mayo. Bridesmaids were Caitlin Hornbeck and April Chronister. Groomsmen were Vishal Patel and Bryan Alonzo. Bride's attendant was Janalyn Giles. Ushers were Jason Hornbeck and Jeff Williams. Flower girls were Leandra Nathan and Ariana Hornbeck. A reception followed at the Mission Theatre, in Mission. The bride is a 2001 graduate of Free State High School. She earned a Bachelor of Social Work degree from Kansas University in 2005. She is a student in the School of Social Welfare's Advanced-Standing Program at KU and working toward a Master of Social Work degree. She is employed as a homeless outreach specialist at the Wyandot Center Inc., in Kansas City, Kan. The groom graduated from Shawnee Mission North High School. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science from KU in 2004. He is employed in private banking with First National Bank, in Overland Park. The couple reside in Shawnee.
Foster and Morris
Emily Morris and Randall Foster were married May 19, 2007, in Key West, Fla., with the Rev. Charles Damon officiating. The bride is the daughter of Steven and Irela Morris, Estero, Fla. The groom is the son of Robert and Rebecca Foster, Lawrence. Maids of honor were Jackie Morris and Stephanie Morris. Best men were Bob Little and Rob Foster. Bridesmaids were Elizabeth Pearson, Katie Henry and Dana Bonner. Groomsmen were Pat Mason, Christopher Ward, Greg Kling and Dylan Foster. Ring bearer was Keiran Egan. Flower girl was Regan Foster. A reception followed in the garden at Kelly's Carribean Bar, Grill, and Brewery, in Key West, Fla. The bride is a 2002 graduate of Estero High School, in Florida. She receive a psychology and chemistry degree from the University of Miami in 2005. She is employed as a research analyst for Vanderbilt University, and she is working on her master's degree as a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner. The groom is a 1996 graduate of Lawrence High School. He received a liberal arts degree from Kansas University in 2002. He received a master's degree in music business from the University of Miami in 2005. He is employed as a licensing manager for the Naxos classical music label. The couple reside in Nashville, Tenn.
Archie and Marjorie Coleman will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a picnic for family and friends on May 25 at the home of their daughter, Cindy. Archie Coleman and Marjorie Broers were married May 28, 1958, at St. Paul Evangelical Church, Eudora. Archie served in the United States Air Force from 1956 until his retirement in 1978. After retirement, Archie and Margie settled in Eudora where Archie held several occupations including being a police officer with Kansas University and the city of Eudora. Margie was a homemaker, but also had several interests outside the home that included ceramics, doll-making and quilting. She is active in the quilt guild in Eudora. Both Archie and Margie enjoyed playing golf and bowling. They have three children: Kerrie and Mark Brecheisen, Eudora; Cindy and Brian Davidson, Tonganoxie; and Gail and Damon Fry, Eudora. They have eight grandchildren, three step-grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. The couple reside in Eudora. The couple request no gifts.
Rodney "Blane" and Mary Ball will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with family and friends with a luncheon and program on May 25 at Kanwaka Township Hall, 776 Highway 40. The couple's sons will host the celebration. Blane Ball and Mary Tate were married on May 25, 1958, in Dearborn, Mo. Blane and his brother, Jesse, owned and operated Blane and Jesse's Beauty Salons for 18 years. He worked as a psychiatric nursing aide at the Colmery-O'Neil VA Medical Center, in Topeka, for 17 years. He received several performance awards during his career. He retired on Jan. 3, 1997. After his retirement, he worked as a sacker at Dillon's for five years. Mary is a homemaker and was the bookkeeper at Blane and Jesse's Beauty Salons for 18 years. She also worked at Josten's Yearbook, Topeka, for three seasons. She worked at Kansas University's Printing Services, in accounts receivable, for eight years. She is an active member of Lawrence Evangelical Friends Church. She was a Sunday school teacher for 15 years, a recording clerk for 10 years and now serves as presiding clerk. They have two children: Bill Ball, Lawrence, and Steven and Kimmie Ball, Longview, Texas. They have three grandchildren. The couple reside in Lawrence. The couple request no gifts.
