Robert "Bud" and Dorothy "Dot" Johnson will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with an open house reception from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. March 8 at Central United Methodist Church, 1501 Mass. Robert Johnson and Dorothy Carey were married March 9, 1958, at Central United Methodist Church in Lawrence. Both are Lawrence High School graduates. Bud served six years in United States Army Reserve and obtained the rank of staff sergeant. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service with 35 years of service in 1999. Dot worked at Standard Life Insurance before becoming a homemaker. Their children are Robin and Terry Jacobsen, Lawrence; Marc and Stephanie Johnson, Ozawkie; and Brad and Ida Johnson, Lawrence.
