Nieder and Julia A. Bolton were married Feb. 5, 1958, in Oklahoma. Raymond worked for Lawrence Decorating and Nieder Contracting. Julie worked for Raney's, First National Bank and The Shelter Inc. Their children are Mike and Sheri Nieder, Lawrence; Brad and Lisa Nieder, Chesterfield, Mo.; Teri Amyx, Overland Park; and Shari and Skip Soukup, Olathe. They have 12 grandchildren. The couple are retired and living in Lawrence. The couple request no gifts.

She is currently a freelance writer. The groom graduated from Lawrence High School in 1989. He received a bachelor's degree in accounting and business administration in 1993 and a master's degree in business with an emphasis in accounting in 1994, both from KU.
