Gene and Martha Burt announce the engagement of their daughter, Colleen Burt, all of Overland Park, to Eric Bloom, Lawrence. The groom is the son of Dan and Carolyn Bloom, Eudora. The future bride is a 1997 graduate of St. Thomas Aquinas High School. She received a bachelor's of arts in early childhood education from Kansas University in 2002. She is employed as the lead infant teacher at Stepping Stones Daycare. The future groom is a 1997 Eudora High School graduate and a 2002 KU graduate in architectural engineering. He is employed as a computer technician at Bloom and Associated Physical Therapy. The couple plan an Oct. 18 wedding at Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Lawrence.
Susan Gatton Linden and Paul Borchardt were married Aug. 18, 2007, at White Sand Lake in Lac du Flambeau, Wis., with John Danner officiating. The bride is the daughter of Roger and Linda Gatton, Hutchinson, and Catherine and Joseph Ruocco, Wichita. The groom is the son of Ronald and Pamela Borchardt, Lawrence. The wedding party was made up of the couple's siblings, Robert and Benjamin Gatton, Scott Borchardt and Kelly Elrod. A reception was given at the Top of the Pointe in Minocqua, Wis. The bride is a 1994 graduate of Kapaun Mount Carmel High School in Wichita. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in English in 1998 and a Master of Arts in English in 2000, both from Kansas University. She is currently a freelance writer. The groom graduated from Lawrence High School in 1989. He received a bachelor's degree in accounting and business administration in 1993 and a master's degree in business with an emphasis in accounting in 1994, both from KU. He is employed as a senior manager in state and local tax for Deloitte in Kansas City. The couple reside in Kansas City, Mo.
Raymond and Julie Nieder will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with friends and family during an open house reception from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Feb. 2 at H & H Grill. Raymond E. Nieder and Julia A. Bolton were married Feb. 5, 1958, in Oklahoma. Raymond worked for Lawrence Decorating and Nieder Contracting. Julie worked for Raney's, First National Bank and The Shelter Inc. Their children are Mike and Sheri Nieder, Lawrence; Brad and Lisa Nieder, Chesterfield, Mo.; Teri Amyx, Overland Park; and Shari and Skip Soukup, Olathe. They have 12 grandchildren. The couple are retired and living in Lawrence. The couple request no gifts.

He is employed as a senior professional sales representative for Shire Pharmaceuticals. The couple reside in Lawrence.
David and Beth Reynolds will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with family and friends during a reception from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Feb. 2 at Boots Adams Alumni Center at Kansas University. David Reynolds and Beth Lauer were married Feb. 1, 1958, in Leavenworth. David received a bachelor's of science in aerospace engineering from KU in 1970 and has a master's of business administration from Rockhurst College. Beth is a member of Altrusa International Inc. She enjoys sewing, genealogy and her grandchildren. The couple founded Apple Tree Homes Inc. Their children are Michael and Gina Reynolds, Shawnee, and Doug and Michelle Stremel, Lawrence. They have five grandchildren. The Reynolds are retired and living in Lawrence. The couple request no gifts.
