George and Darlyne "Dar" Williams celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a Caribbean cruise in January and a family dinner Feb. 2 at Teller's with their children and grandchildren. George J. Williams and Darlyne M. Willhardt were married Feb. 1, 1958, in Leavenworth. George and Darlyne are both graduates of Kansas University. After George was discharged from the Marine Corps, he accepted a position with the city of Lawrence and retired as Public Works director in December 2001. Dar worked in Human Resources. They are both active in church activities, and Dar is an avid painter and George volunteers at Lawrence Memorial Hospital. Their children are Steve and Carrie Williams and Mike and Shanna Williams, all of Lawrence, and Joe Williams, Dallas. They have five grandchildren, Emily, Scott, Megan, Katherine and Allison Williams.
Stoltenow-Jackson Amber Stoltenow and Tyler Jackson were married Dec. 15, 2007, at the Lawrence Holidome, with the Rev. Michael Tomson-DeGreeff officiating. The bride is the daughter of Scott and Lisa Stoltenow, Eudora, and Rick and Lorie Sawyer, Lawrence. The groom is the son of Jim Jackson and Dawn Hiebert, both of Eudora. Maid of honor was Jessie Stoltenow. Best man was Brendan Jackson. Junior bridesmaid was Ashlyn Jackson. Ushers were Luke Powers and Tyler Cleveland. Guest book attendant was Brandi Vietze. A reception followed at the Holidome. The bride is a 2004 Eudora High School and a 2006 Johnson County Community College graduate. She plans to attend Emporia State University at Kansas City Kansas Community College in the fall for the elementary education program. She is employed as a part-time substitute teacher through Morgan Hunter Co. and also as a part-time employee for Dodson International Parts, Rantoul. The groom is a 2003 Eudora High School graduate. He became a certified emergency medical technician through Kansas City Kansas Community College in 2007. He also became a certified firefighter in 2007 and is a volunteer on the Eudora Fire Department and Eudora Emergency Medical Service. He is employed at Sauer-Danfoss in Lawrence. The couple reside in Eudora.
Julie McGinn and Dan Denton were married Sept. 2, 2007, at Sixth Avenue West Chapel in Lakewood, Colo., with Dr. Jeff Mallinson officiating. The bride is the daughter of Terry and Suzanne McGinn, Lawrence. The groom is the son of Randy and Carole Denton, Topeka. Maid of honor was Liz Sothman. Best man was Matt Baldwin. Bridesmaids were Rebekah Taylor, Jen Simmons, Marie Tigchelaar, Molly Flavin and Jenny Brecht. Groomsmen were Paul Brecht, Jeremy Scott, Tyler Scott, Luke Broxterman and John David Zeller. A reception was given at The Summit Event Center in Aurora, Colo. The bride is a 2005 graduate of Free State High School. She is pursuing a bachelor's degree in history education at Colorado Christian University. The groom was home-schooled in Topeka and graduated in 2005. He is a 2007 graduate of Colorado Christian University with a double major in computer information systems and business administration. He is employed as a computer programmer for Denver Technical Center. The couple reside in Lakewood, Colo.

Abdalla and Shields
Mike and Kris Shields, Lawrence, announce the engagement of their daughter, Lindsay M. Shields, to Ashraf Sami Abdalla, both of New York.
