The bride is the daughter of David and Nancy Childers, and the groom is the son of Cherie Marshall, all of Lawrence. Maid of honor was Danielle DuMortier. Best man was Matt Edwards. Flower girls were Jordan Fraley and Zoe Edwards. A reception followed at the visitor information center. Sara graduated from Free State High School in 2003 and is employed by Re/Max Professionals. Michael graduated from Lawrence High School in 2000 and is employed by Wurtz Home Builders. The couple reside in Lawrence.
Brassell and Mackey
Janet Mackey and Adrian Brassell were married July 7, 2007, at Indian Creek Community Church in Olathe, with Pastor Jim Davey officiating. The bride is the daughter of Bill and Betty Mackey, Eudora. The groom is the son of Frank Brassell and Beverly Brassell, both of Colorado Springs, Colo. Maid of honor was Tracy Uhl. Best man was Cody Prince. Bridesmaids were Missy Mead and Shauna Baker. The bride is the daughter of Michael and Catherine Johnson, Richardson, Texas. The groom is the son of Russell and Jamie Blaylock, Lawrence. Matron of honor was Maura Carter. White High School in Dallas and attended Southwest Texas State University. She is employed as the new hire coordinator at HKS Inc. in Dallas. Ryan graduated from Lawrence High School in 1999 and received a bachelor's degree in architecture from Kansas University in 2004. He is employed as an architect at HKS Inc. The couple reside in Richardson.
McClelland and Rayton
Jennifer Lynn McClelland and Donald Rodney Rayton Jr. were married Nov. 7, 2007, in Lawrence, with Judge Michael Malone officiating. The bride is the daughter of Dan Esmond, Lawrence, and the late Debbie Hayes. The groom is the son of Robyn Blann, Lawrence, and the late Donald Rayton Sr. Maid of honor was Tami Hulse. Best man was Terrell Clark. Jennifer graduated from Lawrence High School and attended Washburn University. She is employed by Winged H Buffalo Ranch and Winged H Dachshunds. Donald attended Lawrence High School and received a GED. He is self-employed. The couple reside in Wakarusa.
Fawcett and Niehuss
Niehuss-Fawcett Steve Fawcett and Kathleen McCluskey-Fawcett, Lawrence, and Cindy Parry, Gentryville, Mo., announce the engagement of their son, John Paul Fawcett, to Juliette Markham Niehuss, daughter of John M. Juliette graduated from Georgetown Visitation Preparatory School of Washington, D.C., in 1997, from Amherst College in 2001, and American University law school in 2006. She will be a staff attorney at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom in Washington, D.C. John graduated from Lawrence High School in 1995, from Kansas University in 2000 and received a master's degree in international development from American University in 2004. He is legislative director of Results, in Washington, D.C., a nonprofit organization committed to ending hunger and the worst aspects of poverty. The couple plan a June 21, 2008, wedding at the chapel of American University in Washington, D.C.
Knight and Peck
Jim Knight and Cathy Knight, both of Lawrence, announce the engagement of their son, Geoffrey Douglas Knight, to Jennifer Peck, daughter of Carla and Stephanie Peck. Jenny received a Bachelor of Arts in mathematics from Kansas University in 2006. She is serving in the Peace Corps in Mdabulo, Tanzania. Geoff graduated from Free State High School and received a Bachelor of Arts in anthropology from KU in 2007. He is a teacher at Southern Highlands School in Mafinga, Tanzania. The couple plan a November 2008 wedding in Zanzibar, Tanzania.

Rodney and Diana Pringle, Lawrence, announce the engagement of their daughter, Melissa Ann Pringle, Lawrence, to Nathaniel Joseph Miller, son of Fred and Diane Miller, all of Morrowville. Arnold and Margaret Brubeck, Stockton, Mo., will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary Dec. 8 at the Black Jack Church of God (Holiness) in Stockton. They were married Dec. 5, 1947, in Stockton. The couple are former residents of Lawrence. Arnold worked as a residential construction framing and trim contractor for a number of years in the Lawrence area. He also was a pastor for the Church of God (Holiness) in Kansas, Colorado and Missouri. Margaret worked as a bookkeeper. They are now retired. The couple also lived in Humansville, Mo.; Kirtland, N.M.; and Lamar, Colo. Their children are Susan Mayo, Lawrence; Ted Brubeck, McAllen, Texas; Tim Brubeck, Ava, Mo.; and the late Gene Brubeck.
Doug and Tammy Johnson, Stephens City, Va., will celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary with a trip to Key West, Fla. Doug Johnson and Tammy Robson were married Sept. 3, 1982, in Lawrence. Tammy graduated from Lawrence High School. Doug graduated from Baldwin High School and attended Baker University. Their children are Tiffany, Corey and Brett, all of Stephens City. They have one grandchild.
