Ron and Barbara J. Evilsizor, Lawrence, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a family brunch Nov. 25 in Leawood. Their daughter, Barbara, and her husband, Condrad Miller Jr., will host the event. Ron Evilsizor and Barbara J. Madl Barlow were married Nov. 8, 1957, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Lawrence, with Monsignor George Towle officiating. Ron was employed as an agent for New York Life Insurance Co. of New York from 1957 until his retirement in October 1998. Barbara has worked as a beautician for more than 50 years in Lawrence. Their children are Jerry F. Barlow and his wife Mary, Cherokee, Iowa, and Barbara Jan Miller and husband Conrad, Leawood. They have four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Raymond and Mary Schimmel celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary with a family lunch at Coyote Canyon in Topeka. Raymond Schimmel and Mary Legon were married Nov. 8, 1967, at Emmanual Lutheran Church in Lawrence. Raymond worked at Lawrence Sanitary Dairy and All-Star Dairy for 32 years as a retail salesman and as a toll collector for the Kansas Turnpike Authority for 13 years. Mary worked for 18 years at St. Francis Health Center in Topeka. They have four children, Rose, Randy, and Ralph, of Lawrence and Rhonda Miller, of Topeka, and two granddaughters.

The couple are former residents of Lawrence. Arnold worked as a residential construction framing and trim contractor for a number of years in the Lawrence area. He also was a pastor for the Church of God (Holiness) in Kansas, Colorado and Missouri. Margaret worked as a bookkeeper. They are now retired.
