He is employed as a long-range planner in the city of Lawrence-Douglas County's Planning and Development Services Department. Lorenz and Norma Ochs, Lawrence, celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary with a family dinner Nov. 23 at SpringHill Suites by Marriott in Lawrence. Lorenz Ochs and Norma Ackerman were married Dec. 7, 1947, in Eureka. Lorenz worked for Centel Electric in Great Bend for 35 years. Norma was a registered nurse at the St. Francis Hospital School of Nursing in Wichita. They are retired. Their children are Mitchell Ochs, Great Bend; Stephan Ochs, McLean, Va.; and Jeanette Ochs, Lawrence. They have four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
