Holly Beneventi and Dan Page were married Sept. 16, 2006, at First Christian Church in Lawrence with the Rev. Randy Beeman officiating. The bride is the daughter of Dan and Arlene Huhn, Nevada, Iowa. The groom is the son of Patricia Page, Pratt, and the late Dr. Val Page. Clarinetist Larry Maxey played prelude music while Judy Chadwick accompanied him on the piano. Max Mayse was organist. Vocalists were Keith Huhn, Melanie Calcara and Sheri Page. Ushers were Kyle and Brian Beneventi. Kirby Beneventi was candle lighter. Ring bearer was Daniel Page. A reception was given in the Big 6 Room at the Eldridge Hotel. The bride is a professional accompanist, an adjunct faculty member at Washburn University, on staff at Kansas University and maintains a teaching studio. The groom is employed as a plumber. The couple reside in Lawrence.
Donnally and Tran
Phat and Hoa Tran, Garden Grove, Calif., announce the engagement of their daughter, Lynne Thuy-Long Tran, Irvine, Calif., to Timothy Robert Donnally, Denver, son of Reaumur and Mary Donnally, Lawrence. The bride-to-be is a 2000 graduate of Pacific High School. She received a bachelor's degree in political science and business management from the University of California in Irvine, Calif. She is employed with IndyMac Mortgage Co. in Irvine. The future groom is a 2000 graduate of Lawrence High School. He earned a bachelor's degree in business administration in 2004 from Kansas University. He is a sales representative for IBM in Denver. The couple plan a Jan. 6, 2007, wedding at St. Columban Catholic Church in Garden Grove, Calif.
Rosie and Murray Hodge, Lawrence, will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary with a reception from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at the Union Pacific Depot, 402 N. Second St. Friends and family are invited to attend. Rosetta Badger and Murray Hodge were married Oct. 10, 1946, in Lawrence, with the Rev. Gilbert Yearn officiating. Murray retired from Kansas Construction and now works for Westlake Ace Hardware. Rosie retired from the Lawrence school district, where she worked in the cafeteria. Hosts of the reception will be their children: Patty Craine, David and Penny Hodge, and Charlene and Terry Hodge Sr., all of Lawrence. They have six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. The couple request no gifts.
Maydeen and Allen Tade, Lawrence, will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary with a family dinner. Hosts will be their children. Maydeen Hendricks and AllenTade were married Oct. 12, 1946, in Newton Christian Church with the Rev. John Golden officiating. Allen retired from Cities Service Gas Co. after 41 years. Maydeen was manager of a Russell Stovers store in Wichita. Their children are Nancy and Larry Stoppel, Washington, Kan., and Jeffrey Tade, Sacramento, Calif. They have three grandchildren.
Robert and Celia Smith, Lawrence, recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Sept. 23 with a party for family and friends in their backyard. They met in Boston and were married Sept. 22, 1956, in MÃ¡laga, Spain. Robert was raised in New Mexico and Celia was raised in MÃ¡laga. They moved to Lawrence in 1967. Robert is a retired KU professor, and Celia is a medical librarian at Lawrence Memorial Hospital and a dedicated painter. They have three children, Celeste Smith, Roderick Smith and Rocio Smith, and six grandchildren.
Margaret "Peggy" and Norman Bartlett, Lawrence, will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary with a reception from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 14 at Holcom Park Recreation Center, 2700 W. 27th St. Margaret Elston and Norman Bartlett were married Oct. 17, 1946. Norman is retired from FMC Corp. Peggy is retired from the Lawrence school district. Their children are Gary Bartlett, Lawrence, and Gaylene Beatty, Carbondale. The couple request no gifts.
