Tatum-Deibel Gary and Kathy Tatum, Lawrence, announce the engagement of their son, Thomas David Tatum, Los Angeles, to Tabitha Fay Deibel, Los Angeles, daughter of Scott and Debra Irvin, Bakersfield, Calif. The bride-to-be is a 1997 graduate of Canyon High School. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in anthropology from the University of California and a master's degree in education from Pepperdine University. She is a first-grade teacher at Le Lycee Francais de School in Los Angeles. The future groom is a 1996 graduate of Lawrence High School. He attended Fort Hays State University and Kansas University. He graduated in 2001 from Southcoast Nuclear Medical Hospital in Santa Barbara, Calif. He is head of the nuclear department at Century City Doctors Hospital in Los Angeles. The couple plan a Feb. 4, 2006, wedding in Camarillo, Calif.



Lauffer-Ulrich Kevin and Kim Lauffer, Protection, and Marshall and Vicki Ulrich, Baldwin, announce the engagement of their children, Laci Michelle Lauffer and Luke Victor Ulrich. The bride-to-be is a 1998 graduate of Protection High School. She graduated from Dodge City Community College in 2000 with an associate degree and from Kansas University in 2003 with a Bachelor of Science degree in journalism. She is employed at the Kansas University Center for Research Inc. as a grant specialist. Her grandparents are Sharon and Tom Hensley, Hot Springs Village, Ark., and Charlie Lauffer, Protection, and the late Lois Lauffer. The future groom is a 1995 graduate of Baldwin High School. He graduated from North Central Kansas Technical College with a degree in agricultural technology and with an associate degree in 1997 from Cloud County Community College. He owns and operates All Around Construction and Ulrich Brothers Farms of Baldwin. His grandparents are Eva Harvey, Andover, and the late Harold Harvey. The couple plan a June 17, 2006, wedding at First Baptist Church in Protection.



Larrabee-Bender Bob and Marcella Larrabee, Lawrence, announce the engagement of their daughter, Jessica Larrabee, to Gregory Bender, son of Burwyn and Juanita Bender, Lawrence. The bride-to-be is a Free State High School graduate. She is studying psychology at Johnson County Community College. She is employed at Lawrence Plastic Surgery. The future groom is a Lawrence High School graduate. He is pursuing a degree in security management at Southwestern College. He owns Kaw Valley Supply and is a member of the 190th Air Refueling Wing of the Kansas Air National Guard. The couple plan a January 2007 wedding.



Ketzner-Smith Melissa Ketzner and Gavin Smith were married May 14, 2005, at Trinity Episcopal Church in Lawrence with the Rev. Canon Jonathon Jensen officiating. The bride is the daughter of Kevin Ketzner, Wichita, and the late Diana Copeland. The groom is the son of Lionel and Julie Smith, McKinney, Texas. Matron of honor was Jennifer Kraisan. Best man was Tim Yates. Bridesmaids were April Adler, Summer Fields, Annie Hurt, Brianna Lentell, Courtney Love, Laura Roberts and Sarah Rock. Groomsmen were Jeff Hagman, Paul Karlik, T.J. She attends Kansas University and is working for Linquist & Craig Hotels & Resorts. The groom graduated from Papillion LaVista High School in 1999. He attended KU. He is general manager and talent buyer for Fatso's Public House & Stage. The couple reside in Lawrence.



Flowers-Krutz Mary Flowers and Stephen Krutz were married Oct. 23, 2005, in Eureka Springs, Ark. The bride is the daughter of Butch and Joyce Drake, Tulsa, Okla. The groom is the son of Stephen and Kathleen Krutz, Eudora. Maid of honor was Sherita Flowers. Best man was Chad Krutz. A reception followed the ceremony. The bride is a 2002 graduate of Cornerstone Prepatory Academy High School. She received Bachelor of Arts degrees in political science and international studies from Kansas State University, where she is pursuing a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science. The groom is a 2001 graduate of Eudora High School. He attends Kansas State University where he is pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in construction science and management. The couple live in Lenexa.

Hamil-Dahlberg Ann Hamil and Steve Dahlberg were married Dec. 31, 2005, at the Cottage House Hotel in Council Grove with Kenneth Mclintock officiating. The bride is the daughter of John and Marie Hamil, Shawnee. The groom is the son of Kirk and Joanne Dahlberg, Wichita. Maid of honor was Nancy Hamil. Best man was Matt Fowler. Readers were Debi Fox, Nancy Hamil, Matt Fowler, Liz Hicks and Todd Jost. Ushers were Shanna Wagner and Marcy Etter. Musicians were John David Hamil and Mishai Etter. The bride is a 1987 graduate of Sumner Academy in Kansas City, Kan. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1991, a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in 1998 and a master's degree in art education in 2004 from Kansas University. She is employed as art and humanities teacher at Sumner Academy. The groom is an information technology specialist, musician and songwriter. The couple reside in Lawrence.

He is employed by Cox Behavioral Transitions in Springfield. The couple reside in Springfield, Mo.



Kreider-Starrs Kelsey Kreider and David Starrs were married Sept. 3, 2005, at Emmaus Baptist Church in Northfield, Minn., with the Rev. Will Healy officiating. The bride is the daughter of Jim Kreider and Denise Pettengill, Lawrence, and Michelle Hostetler and Bob Nugent, Fort Collins, Colo. The groom is the son of Jim and Kathy Starrs, Casper, Wyo. Maid of honor was Emily Radke. Best man was Josh Kinzer. A reception followed the ceremony at The Grand in Northfield. The bride is a 1999 graduate of Topeka High School and a 2003 graduate of St. Olaf College in Northfield. She is a probation officer for Hennepin County. The groom is a 1998 graduate of Natrona County High School, Casper, Wyo., and a 2002 graduate of St. Olaf College. He is employed in software sales for Gelco in Minneapolis. The couple reside in Minneapolis.



Wiederholt Cletus and Maureen Wiederholt, Baldwin, will celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary with a reception from 8 p.m. to midnight Feb. 4 at the Knights of Columbus, 2206 E. 23rd St., in Lawrence. They were married Feb. 5, 1966, in Lawrence. Cletus worked for PepsiCo in Ottawa for 16 years. He retired from Frito Lay, Lawrence, in 1999 after 21 years of service. He raises cattle and works for the Baldwin school district. Maureen is a nursing instructor for Penn Valley Community College and is a nurse at Truman Medical Center. She has been a nurse at area hospitals for 30 years. Their children are Bill Wiederholt, Baldwin; Jim and Lisa Wiederholt, Baldwin; Mike and Angie Wiederholt, Edgerton; and William and Laura Crowe, Eudora. They have 12 grandchildren.



Mohr-Carson Jamie Mohr and Chad Carson were married May 27, 2005, at the Victorian Veranda Country Inn in Lawrence with Ron Foster officiating. The bride is the daughter of Larry and Peggy Mohr, Tampa, Fla. The groom is the son of Norman and Suzanne Patterson, Lawrence. Maid of honor was Rebecca Mohr. Best man was Michael Ingalls. Bridesmaids were Sarah Beshears, Amanda Mayhew and Sarah Johns. Groomsmen were Robert Burton, Chris Lemmon and Chris Beshears. Flower girls were Hailey Mohr and Chrisa Kerns. Ring bearer was Branden Patterson. A reception followed the ceremony at the Victorian Veranda Country Inn. The bride is a 2001 graduate of Free State High School. The groom is a 1999 graduate of FSHS. They both are employed by Starbucks. The couple reside in Overland Park.



Stewart George W. "Bill" Stewart and Dorothy "Dottie" Stewart, Tonganoxie, will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary with an open house from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at their home, 1163 Delaware Drive. They were married Jan. 26, 1946, at Quayle Memorial Methodist Church in Kansas City, Kan. Their children are Mike Stewart and John Stewart, both of Olathe, and Patti Stewart, Topeka. They have nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Bill, who is a World War II U.S. Army veteran, worked for 46 years as a carpenter. He owned Stewart Construction Co. and retired in 1992. Dorothy was a homemaker and worked for 13 years as an Avon representative. The couple request no gifts.
