Alvin and Wilma Reetz, Lawrence, will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary on Friday. They were married Aug. 18, 1946, at the Methodist church in Leavenworth. They have spent their married life in the Lawrence area. Alvin retired from Farmland Industries of Kansas City in 1987. Wilma has worked at various businesses as a secretary and receptionist. Their children are Cheryl Klug, Charla Tunget, Debby Wedel and Bill Reetz, all of the Lawrence area. They have nine grandsons and five great-grandchildren. Dave and Dottie Nordlund, Lawrence, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a reception from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Aug. 19 at First Baptist Church in Lawrence. They were married Aug. 18, 1956, in Elmhurst, Ill. They moved to Lawrence in 1970 when Dave accepted a job at the Computer Center at Kansas University. He retired from the center in July 1998. Dottie retired from the Kansas Union catering department in August 1999. Hosts of the reception will be their children, Don and Suzie Nordlund, Debbie and Bill Detter, and Dava and Travis Cooper. Dave and Dottie have three children, 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
