Joyia Chadwick and Brent Yorgey were married July 23, 2005, at First Christian Church in Lawrence with the Revs. Randy Beeman and Wes Roberts officiating. The bride is the daughter of Dennis and Judy Chadwick, Lawrence. The groom is the son of Rick and Debbie Yorgey, Washington, D.C. The groom's grandparents are Herbert and Berta Jantz, and Ruth Yorgey. Maid of honor was Merry Chadwick. Best man was Steve Winslow. Bridesmaids were Mihye Kim, Lynette Yorgey and Elissa Yorgey. Groomsmen were Alonzo Carter, Jim Schroder and Jack Miller. Eric Yorgey was ring bearer. Scripture readers were Emily Bright and Christine Rabe. Ushers were Mark Gunderson, Eric Southard and Matt Spencer. Guest book and gift attendants were Katie Rhodes and Catie Johnson. The bride is a 2001 graduate of Free State High School. She is a 2005 graduate of Williams College, Williamstown, Mass. She will begin graduate work in foreign policy this fall at American University in Washington, D.C. The groom is a 2000 graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School in Washington, D.C., and a 2004 graduate of Williams College in computer science. He teaches computer science and math at Woodrow Wilson High School. The couple reside in Washington, D.C.

The bride is the daughter of Harold and Marilyn Mann, Coffeyville. The groom is the son of Ron and Debbie O'Connor, Baldwin, and Becky O'Connor, Ottawa. Grandparents of the couple are Kenneth and Ruth Brannam, Caney; Verena Mann, Caney; Joe and Liz O'Connor, Baldwin; and Lois Myers, Ottawa. Matron of honor was Amy Foster. Bridesmaids were Monica Sneed, Stephanie Adame, Sarah Morris and Maggie Goudy. Best man was Jason O'Connor. Groomsmen were Jake Arnold, Matt Craig, Cameron Kaiser and Will Mann. The bride is a 1995 graduate of Field Kindley Memorial High School, Coffeyville. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in mass communication and journalism from Kansas State University in 2000. She is Central Zone Government Affairs specialist for State Farm Insurance Cos. The groom is a 1994 graduate of Baldwin High School. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in graphic design from K-State in 2001. He is IT project manager for Farmers Group. The couple reside in Oklahoma City.



Nicole Pisciotta, Prairie Village, and Thomas Gibbs, Lawrence, were married May 14, 2005, at Christ Episcopal Church in Overland Park with the Rev. Thomas Prichard officiating. The bride is the daughter of Robert and Margaret Pisciotta, Prairie Village. The groom is the son of George and Ruth Gibbs, Lawrence. Maids of honor were Rachel Pisciotta and Mary Pisciotta. Best man was Ben Maples. Groomsman was Jeff Torchia. The bride is a graduate of Shawnee Mission East High School. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Lake Forest College. She is a software engineer for Reuters America. The groom is a Lawrence High School graduate. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Kansas University and a master's degree from Emporia State University. He is a technology liaison in Dykes Library at the KU Medical Center. The couple reside in Mission.



Regina G. Carter, Lawrence, and Rafael L. Sanchez, Lawrence, were married Aug. 13, 2005, in Lawrence with Keith Herron officiating. The bride is the daughter of Rafael and Pamela Sanchez, Lawrence. The groom is the son of Richard and Monika Rios, El Mirage, Ariz. The bride's attendant was Courtney Carter. The groom's attendant was Christopher Carter. The bride works at a surgery center in Johnson County. The groom works for Kansas University. The couple reside in Lawrence.



John and Martha Chandler, rural Douglas County, will celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary Sunday. They were married Sept. 11, 1965, in Kincaid. John attended Garnett High School, and Martha attended Kincaid High School. John has worked at the Kmart Distribution Center for 33 years. They have a son, Eric Chandler, Bend, Ore., and one grandson.



Jennifer Oehlert and Brian Elm, both of Lawrence, were married April 9, 2005, at Lawrence Free Methodist Church in Lawrence with Ann Kugler officiating. The bride is the daughter of John and DeVonna Oehlert, Lawrence. The groom is the son of James and Delores Elm, Lawrence. Maids of honor were Jaime Sauer and Sparkle Oehlert. Best man was Kyle Guenther. Bridesmaids were Lori Yoder and Stephanie Oehlert. Groomsmen were Luke Lang, Gary Bruhns and Jeff Hardie. Candle lighters were Zach Gay and Chase Oehlert. She works at Capitol Federal Savings in the mortgage department as a loan processor/closing assistant. The groom is a 1993 LHS graduate. He works at Hallmark Cards in Lawrence. The couple reside in Lawrence.



Richard and Mildred "Millie" Hogan, Donna, Texas, will celebrate their 56th wedding anniversary during a family reunion Sept. 17 at the Douglas County 4-H Fairgrounds in Lawrence. They were married Sept. 10, 1949, in Lawrence. Ben is a 1948 graduate of Liberty Memorial High School, and "Millie" is a 1950 graduate of LMHS. Ben retired from the U.S. Army in 1969. They were volunteers and gate attendants at the U.S. Corps of Engineers Campgrounds at Clinton Lake for 12 years. Their children are Virginia Conard, Lawrence, and Elizabeth Dix, Pueblo, Colo. They also have two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. The couple request no gifts.
