Melvin and Yvonne Lang, Perry, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary at a reception from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 5 at St. Theresa Catholic Church in Perry. Melvin worked in the grain business for 38 years, retiring in 1997 as manager of the North Lawrence Farmers Co-op Elevator. He had previously managed Kaw Valley Grain Co. in Perry and Farmers Elevator in Hedville, and was assistant manager at the Beaver Grain Corp. He works part time for the Jefferson County Rural Water District 2. Yvonne retired in 2001 as an accountant at the Kansas University Life Span Institute. She previously worked in accounting at the Kaw Valley Grain Co. in Perry and Fuller Business Services in Hoisington. She works part time as the accountant at the Kansas University Beach Center on disability/self-determination projects.
