Elizabeth Ann Murray and Daniel Ross Boswell were married Sept. 24, 2005, at Clinton Lake in Lawrence with Jacquelyn Creel officiating. The bride is the daughter of Michael James, Manhattan, and Lucy James, Wichita. The groom is the son of Burton Boswell and Sherry Boswell, both of Lawrence. Maid of honor was Chris Selzer. Best man was Burton Boswell. Bridesmaids were Beth Wright and Kori Martin. Groomsmen were Jacob Bolm and Justin Herrmann. Flower girl was Barbara Boswell. Ring bearer was Eric Elzea. A reception was given at South Park Recreation Center. They are both college students and reside in Lawrence.



Laura Wolfe and Jeremy Hess were married Sept. 4, 2005, at the home of the bride's parents with Judge Jean Shepherd officiating. The bride is the daughter of Richard and Judi Wolfe, Lawrence. The groom is the son of Larry and Cathrine Hess, Lawrence. The couple's grandparents are Buddy and Creta Bowles, Topeka; Mary Winters, Lawrence; and Albert and Helen Hess, Ozawkie. The wedding party included: Tara Wolfe, Jake Hess, Bethany Hess, Adam Hess and Sarah Hess. A reception was given at Liberty Hall. The bride is owner of White Lotus Photography. The groom is foreman of Woodworking Specialties Inc. The couple reside in Lawrence.



Marie and Maurice Black Jr., Tonganoxie, will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary with a family gathering. Marie Mitchell and Maurice Black Jr. were married Oct. 14, 1945, in Tonganoxie. They farmed near Linwood for many years before moving in 1995 to Tonganoxie. Their family includes two daughters, Jane Korb, Oskaloosa, and Becky Hicks, Lawrence; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. The family gathering also will celebrate Marie Black's 80th birthday, which is Oct. 12.



Lawrence and Deborah Blanco, Topeka, announce the engagement of their daughter, Marissa Blanco, to Adam Bundy, son of Donald and Wendy Bundy, Tonganoxie. The future bride is a graduate of Topeka West High School and Kansas University. She is employed by the Shawnee Mission school district. The future groom is a graduate of Tonganoxie High School and KU. He is employed by Custom Lighting Services. The couple plan a June 3, 2006, wedding at Mustard Seed Christian Fellowship Church in Lawrence.



Marcus and Cora Kuepker, Lawrence, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a reception for family and friends at the American Legion building. They were married Oct. 2, 1955, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Kansas City, Kan. They have been residents of Lawrence since 1974. Marcus was employed by Aeroquip, and Cora was employed by All Star Dairy and Kansas University. Their children are Paula O'Connor and Marcia Shoemaker, both of Lawrence. They have nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.



Christina L. Krogh, Lawrence, and Gary Singer, Olathe, announce their engagement. The bride-to-be is the mother of Michael Steven, Manhattan, and Douglas Alan Krogh, St. Petersburg, Fla. She is a graduate of Howard University in Washington, D.C. The future groom is the son of Garold and Billie Singer, Stockton, Calif. He is the father of Kristy Lynn Singer, Kansas City, Mo., and Stephen Gary Singer, Olathe. He is a graduate of the University of Pacific in Stockton, Calif., with a Bachelor of Arts degree in recreation administration. He is employed by ADOS Inc. in Olathe. The couple plan a Nov. 5 wedding at Mildale Farm in Edgerton.



Katie Nye and Dustin Huff, both of Lawrence, were married July 2, 2005, at Plymouth Congregational Church in Lawrence with the Rev. Peter Luckey officiating. Phil Dougan assisted with the ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Jim and Alison Nye, Lawrence. Her grandparents are Bert and Marge Rowell, Lawrence, and Ruth Nye, Atchison. The groom is the son of Darrell and Debbie Huff, Lawrence. He is the grandson of Art and Toni Noller, Lawrence, and Jackie Huff, Lawrence. Bridesmaids were Jennifer Smith, Stacey Urban, Nicole Henry, Jennifer Daugherty, Danielle Huff and Drew Huff. Groomsmen were Derek Huff, Derek Nye, Kevin Reinecke, Kris Hinrichsen, Ryan Ritchey and Kyle Miller. Candle lighters were Megan Watson and Evan Watson. The bride's personal attendant was Teresa Watson. Program, gift and guest book attendants were Kelly Faulconer, Katie Rhodes, Catie Johnson, Marita Robinson, Sadie Caplan and Tiffany Hopkins. Musicians were Valerie Pernice, Patrick Gaus and George Brahler. Sally Rowell, Shelby Rowell, Hanna Rowell, Andrew Rowell and Mhari Rowell handed out bubbles. A reception was given at Maceli's in Lawrence. The bride is a 2001 Free State High School graduate. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from Kansas University in 2005. She is a neonatal intensive care nurse at Children's Mercy Hospital. The groom is a 2001 Lawrence High School graduate. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in criminal justice in 2005 from Washburn University. He works at UMB Bank and plans to attend Johnson County Paramedic School in January. The couple reside in Overland Park.



Donna S. Jimboy and Martin A. Hale were married Sept. 18, 2005, at Creek Chapel Indian Methodist Church in Okemah, Okla., with the Rev. Edwin Jimboy officiating. The bride is the daughter of Buna Taylor, Lawrence, and the late Wayne Jimboy. The groom is the son of Lawrence Hale, Mayetta, and the late Barbara Hale. The bride was escorted by Kenneth Holden, and the groom was escorted by Louise Holden. Ring bearer was the couple's daughter, Megan Hale. Matron of honor was Gloria Patneaude. Best man was Al Patneaude. Bridesmaid was Tianne Quoetone. Groomsman was Ron Quoetone. A reception was given at the church. The bride is a 1977 graduate of Lawrence High School and a 1979 graduate of Haskell Indian Nations University. She worked for the City of Lawrence clerk's office, Douglas County Health Department and Haskell Indian Nations University. She is employed with Farmers State Bank in Holton. The groom is a 1975 graduate of Royal Valley High School in Hoyt. He graduated in 1980 from the Federal Police Academy in Utah. He attended Haskell Indian Nations University, Highland Community College and Kansas University. His employment has included: deputy for Brown County, security for Haskell university, a Prairie Band Potawatomi officer for Net Lake Minnesota, security for Prairie Band Potawatomi Bingo hall and security for Harrah's casino. He is a dispatcher for the Prairie Band Potawatomi tribal police department. The couple reside in Holton.



Marion and Charlotte Muckey, Lawrence, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a family gathering Oct. 2 at their home. Hosts were their children and Leona Campbell. Marion G. Muckey and Charlotte Marie Gibler were married Oct. 1, 1955, by the Rev. Dale Turner at Trinity Lutheran Church. Turner was pastor at Plymouth Congregational Church, but due to a fire in the chapel that year, the ceremony was held at Trinity Lutheran Church. Marion attended Baldwin High School and Baker University. He retired after 41 years as assistant director of facility operations at Kansas University. Charlotte attended Liberty Memorial High School, was a homemaker and active in schools and Scout activities. They have lived in the Cordley area for more than 46 years. Their children are Michael Muckey, Olathe; Keith Muckey, Baldwin; and Cynthia, Lawrence. They have three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
