Chuck received a bachelor's degree and a master's degree from Pittsburg State University and a doctorate from Kansas University. He retired as coordinator of health and physical education from Lawrence public schools. Lois is a retired bank officer. She works for Douglas County Senior Services as the business administrator. The couple's children are Chuck Mead and Brenda Colladay, Nashville, Tenn., and Scott and Kristy Bailey, Lawrence.
Lee and Lois Helm, Lawrence, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a reception from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. March 26 at the Indian Hills Church of God, 601 W. 28th Terrace. Hosts will be their children and grandchildren. Friends and family are invited to attend. Lois Bouton and Lee Helm were married March 26, 1955, in Lexington, Mo. Lee is retired from Lawrence Freight Lines after 35 years. Lois retired from Curtis 1000 after 20 years. Lois is employed part-time at Capitol Federal Savings. Their children are Lori Petrie, Lawrence, and Larry Helm, Eudora. They have two granddaughters and one great-grandson. The couple request no gifts.

Raymond and Caroline Flory, Lawrence, recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. Raymond Clifford Flory and Caroline Belle Torneden were married March 6, 1955, at Clinton Presbyterian Church. Raymond served in the Air Force from January 1951 to October 1954. He then had rural milk routes, car washes and a laundromat in Lawrence. Caroline retired in 1996 as property accountant for Kansas University. They couple played host to a family dinner at Plantation Restaurant in Topeka on March 5. A church family social followed services on March 6 at the Lone Star Church of the Brethren. Hosts of the social were their children Roger and Teresa Flory, Overbrook, Rhonda and Craig Worley, Lawrence; and their eight grandchildren.
