He graduated in 2002 from Dordt College in Sioux Center, Iowa, with a degree in exercise science and in 2005 from Creighton University with a doctorate in physical therapy. He is employed as an owner of Nebraska Doctors of Physical Therapy, PC in Omaha, Neb. The couple reside in Omaha, Neb.
