Lyle graduated from Colorado A&M with a degree in wildlife management. He worked in several U.S. Wildlife Refuges. He finished his career in the Kansas City area office of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. Anita returned to school at the age of 40 to become a nurse. After retiring, she has become a hospital volunteer. Last year, she was president of the Missouri Association of Hospital Auxiliaries.
