The bride is the daughter of Doug and Ginger Wehner, Lawrence. The groom is the son of Larry and Charlotte Swaim, Fort Scott. Matron of honor was Shannon Cates. Best man was Doug Karleskint. Bridesmaids were Melissa Rieke, Lisa Collier, Gina Longanecker, Tiffany Tedlock and Mimi Leach. Groomsmen were Troy Collier, Carson Cates, Jesse Vachon, Travis Sills and Adam Gross. Flower girls were Jenna Collier, Sydny Murr and Audrey Miller. Candle lighters were Alana Stankewsky and Katie Arends. Ushers were Nate Brown, Don Waible, Travis Starcher and Kip Smilie. The couple took a honeymoon trip to Ocho Rios, Jamaica. The bride is a 1999 Lawrence High School graduate. She received a degree in business management and accounting from Pittsburg State University in 2003. She works at Henderson Warren & Eckinger in Overland Park. The groom is a 1998 graduate of Fort Scott High School. He received a degree in marketing from Pittsburg State University in 2002. He is employed at Chrysler Financial in Overland Park. The couple reside in Gardner.
Marvin and Joan Metzger, Lawrence, will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary with a family dinner. They were married May 5, 1945. They operated an auto repair business for more than 30 years in Lawrence after Marvin returned from serving in the Marine Corps during World War II. They retired in 1980. They have two sons, Lynn Metzger and Mark Metzger, both of Lawrence. They have three grandchildren.

She is communications coordinator for the Lawrence-Douglas County Health Department. The future groom is the son of Wesley Goodwin, Orlando, Fla., and Leona Ober, Poplar Bluff, Mo. He graduated from Poplar Bluff High School. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in atmospheric science from the University of Missouri-Columbia. He is chief meteorologist at WIBW-TV in Topeka. The couple plan a Sept. 17 wedding in Chicago.
